Streaming videos are one of the main evolutions of the internet in recent years, however, they are not for everyone. Unfortunately, reading the statistics on web browsers in Italy, we read a large percentage of users still forced to surf the internet with a 56k modem or slow connections . The problem then is the slow loading of the videos discouraged by continuous buffering that prevent you from enjoying the fluid view.
The world's leading video streaming site, Youtube, isn't really optimized for low bandwidth internet connections, and fatigue on slow computers. Since at home Google thinks of everyone's needs, here is the light version of YouTube, lighter, with faster video loading, optimized for PC and slow internet connections .
Streaming HD videos, up to 1080p, consumes around 3 GB of data per hour. YouTube allows you to lower the quality of video streaming to reduce the consumption of traffic and data. To do this, just press the gear icon and then select the Quality option and put on 144p, which is the minimum or, since it looks really bad with 144p, use the 360 pixel resolution.
To automate the choice of resolution to a minimum and thus reduce the consumption of Youtube bandwidth on the PC, you can install the Bandwidth Saver for YouTube extension for Google Chrome which will automatically set the YouTube video quality to the lowest available value.
Obviously, then, it is better to turn off the auto play switch, to prevent Youtube from playing one video after another without stopping.
