Check and reduce the laptop's power consumption

When you use the computer in a room without air conditioning in summer, you can feel how the already very high temperature can be further raised by the heat that a turned on computer releases; sometimes it's like having a stove nearby in summer!
Conversely, even a notebook, in summer temperatures, suffers from the heat and operates its fans even if it is not doing anything.
In addition to the annoyance of heat, the loud noise of the fans that run wildly with energy consumption that often becomes unjustified is not to be overlooked, especially for older PCs.
The best solution could be to use HWInfo32 already illustrated with complete hardware information or another of the programs to control the temperature and heat of the PC .
In this article we are going to talk about a free program called Notebook Hardware Control and its best alternative, RMClock, ideal for controlling the voltage and reducing the laptop's energy consumption and temperature and battery consumption.
Notebook Hardware Control is an old program that allows you to adjust the voltage and frequency of the processor in different ways; the most useful of these is dynamic switching which allows you to automatically change the processor speed based on the load required.
When the processor is not very busy, for example if you are chatting or if you work on simple programs such as word, it will consume and heat very little.
If the required power becomes higher instead the processor will travel at full speed.
Through this program, therefore, you can manage the use of the laptop battery and try to make it last longer by saving energy.
In addition, this program allows you to monitor many parameters such as how much energy it is consuming (in Watts), the level of wear of the battery, the temperature of the processor and the hard disk.
Unfortunately Hardware Notebook control has not been updated for years and does not work on modern PCs.

As an alternative you can install the Rightmark Processor Power Management (RMClock) program, less graphically cute, but much more powerful and updated in 2017.
Without going into the technician too much, to run this program and reduce the PC's energy consumption (and therefore battery consumption and heat), all you need to do is activate the Throttling and Processor Idle options to make it work effectively and without risk .
Another article lists programs to optimize and control the battery life of laptops .
Going beyond the programs, in two other guides it is written:
- 8 ways to cool your pc in hot weather
- If the PC makes too much noise, reduce the fan speed
