In Windows 10 there are some pre-installed applications functional at work and very important to know, which can be configured in a personalized way.
These are the Mail app, which works as a mail client, the People app which is the contact book and then the Calendar, to manage appointments.
To these three that you can use together, you can also add Skype applications to make phone calls and ToDo to organize things to do, also integrated into Windows 10 .
These productivity applications, rather poor until a few years ago, have improved over time and become very useful especially because they integrate with each other as if they were a single program.

Mail app
The most useful and important one is certainly that of Swiss Post because it offers a unique interface from which to manage different e-mail accounts .
The Mail application is, in fact, a very efficient mail client integrated in Windows 10 that calls up similar apps for Android and iPhone, simple and fast, integrated with the Calendar and Contacts.
After opening the Mail application, you can manage your Microsoft e-mail account (Hotmail or Outlook.com), the one used to access Windows.
If you are not using the Microsoft Outlook mail service, you can add another account such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail, in the Mail app to manage received messages and send emails.
To do this, open the settings by pressing the gear button in the application and then go to Manage account to add more mail accounts.
You can quickly add Gmail, Outlook.com, Exchange and Yahoo Mail accounts, or add IMAP or POP accounts by inserting custom mail parameters.
For each of them, indicate the address and password and then, by clicking on the details, indicate the IMAP and SMTP servers and the relative ports (check the instructions provided by the mail service).
If necessary, see the guide to configure a mail account such as Libero or Alice in a mail client, which is not always possible.
For each mail account created, you can create a link on the Start screen to open the incoming messages for that Email box.
To do this, under the word ACcount in the left bar, right-click on the email address to find the option that adds it to Start.
In that same menu you can also choose to activate notifications when new messages arrive and the possibility to change the name of the account and the synchronization settings.
At the bottom, in the left column, you can see the quick links to other applications very related to that of Swiss Post, namely People and Things to Do Calendar.
Calendar app
The Calendar app can also be launched from the Start menu and is similar to Google Calendar, with the ability to mark commitments and appointments on any day of the year.
Click on any day to insert an event, also marking the time and giving an acknowledgment icon.
In the Calendar Settings you can add a new account and then synchronize your Google calendar in Windows 10 if used.
Also you can customize the colors and the background and manage the working weeks in the way you prefer.
From the menu in the left column, at the bottom, you can press the Add Calendar button to automatically add events such as the holidays of the year and like the appointments of the Serie A football calendar or other leagues or even the NBA or Basketball Italian.
People app
The People app is a recent addition to Windows 10, which works as a directory of phone numbers and stored email addresses.
The People app can not only be opened from the other Apps (Clandario and Posta) and from the Start menu, but also from a specific button on the taskbar.
If it does not appear, you can press on the taskbar with the right mouse button and then on " Show Contacts on the taskbar ".
The People app is particularly convenient if you use Skype on your PC, perfectly integrated so you can make calls to the numbers stored quickly.
Here too you can add new contacts automatically, adding an account like that of Google.
If you use an Android smartphone and the address book is synchronized with the Google account, all phone numbers are then imported into Windows 10 so that you can call them from your PC with Skype.

Skype
As for Skype, you can download Skype for Windows 10 as an app or as a program, which are equivalent.
The app is still more integrated in Windows 10, therefore preferable.
ToDo
Finally, the last app that integrates with People, Mail and Calendar is the To-Do and, specifically, Microsoft ToDo, which I have already talked about and which must be installed from the Microsoft Store and is free.
Microsoft ToDo is a very powerful application that works like Agenda to manage tasks and reminders.
Finally, if you use the People or Skype apps, you can right-click on any file or image or video or photo or document that is in a Windows folder to be able to quickly share it with contacts through the option Share .
The sharing box therefore offers a quick way to transfer files via email or Skype to the contacts stored in People .
