One of the most relevant technological phenomena of these years is the success of the Youtubers, real stars of the Youtube platform. Even without aspiring to earn money and work as professional videomakers, we can make simple videos of our daily life and share them on the most famous platform, so we can be sure that a large number of people will be able to attend our adventures! Instead of using an expensive video camera, we can make excellent videos even with the simple camera of our smartphone, so we can quickly upload the short video to YouTube and start growing our fan base. If we have never done it, in this guide we will show you how to make YouTube videos from your mobile phone, so that you can share them quickly on the platform without even going through the PC (superfluous enough in this case).
How to make new YouTube videos from your mobile phone
To make new videos for YouTube directly from our smartphone, first of all make sure we have the YouTube app installed and updated; we can get the latest version of the app from here -> YouTube (Android) and YouTube (iOS).
After the installation, open the app and log in with our YouTube account or with any Google account in our possession (also the one for Gmail or the one created on any Android smartphone is fine), by tapping on the top right and using the Login button. Immediately after logging into our account, we can make a video to upload to the platform at any time!
We wait for the right opportunity, then we reopen the app and tap on the camera symbol at the top; we provide permissions to the app to be able to access the cameras on the device, then press the Record button. The special recording screen will open: by pressing down on the REC symbol we can start the actual recording, with the button with the two arrows at the bottom we can choose whether to use the rear or front camera for shooting while with the button at the top right (lightning-shaped) we can decide whether or not to use the rear camera flash.
We shoot and, at the end, we tap the Stop button at the bottom to end the acquisition (we recommend never to exceed 3 minutes, so as to always make short videos). Immediately after the acquisition, the app will ask us to fill in some text fields (with name, geographical location, list in which to insert the video and other useful options) so that we can prepare the actual upload to YouTube. Among the most useful options we can choose whether to upload the video as Public or Unlisted (to make it visible to everyone or only to those who have the direct link), whether to insert an age limit (based on the type of content), choose whether or not to enable the comments below the video and whether to enable monetization (very useful if we already have an associated AdSense account).
At the end of these preparations, we tap at the top right to start the upload of the video just shot on our YouTube channel (the speed depends on the line in use: we strongly recommend using a Wi-Fi network).
How to upload already recorded videos
If the video to be uploaded to YouTube is already present in the internal memory of our smartphone, the procedure for uploading it is even simpler: we open the YouTube app, log in with the account (as seen previously) and tap on the camera symbol at the top.
The upload window will open, where all the videos already on the smartphone will be shown (all folders are analyzed, including those of Facebook and WhatsApp): to upload our video we will only have to select the correct video then compile the information fields as already seen in the previous paragraph.
How to make YouTube direct from mobile
If instead of the video we wanted to make a direct streaming on YouTube (that is, immediately see everything we see live), we can do it comfortably from our smartphone! We open the app again as seen above, log in and tap again on the top of the camera symbol. To make a live streaming, simply select the Live broadcast button.
The app will ask us for some information and parameters with which to prepare the live broadcast (name, geolocation, programming, chat, age approval, monetization); once the information has been configured to be able to index the live broadcast correctly, we use the Next button, we take a photo to be used as a thumbnail of the video and we press on Live broadcast to make our first live YouTube.
