Among all the software that can be installed on computers, there are some that really never fail, which are a constant for everyone, which are always installed in every part of the world and, of course, also in Italy. They are those essential programs, the best or in any case the most famous of their kind, which are also the most downloaded and the most sought after.
Of course, for each program mentioned here, there are often numerous alternatives that are up to or even more valid, but these are the sector leaders in a market, that of computer software, in which positions are now consolidated, with less and less novelty every year.
Although I did some research, I would have liked to make a ranking, but not having found objective data I can only rely on my personal estimates of the most popular and used programs for computers and PCs, which in any case should not be so far from reality .

3) Skype, the app (today from Microsoft) to call and chat from PC and smartphone has always been the number one of its kind and, after years, it is still the most used VOIP platform in the world, although there are now even better and cheaper alternatives.
4) Avast Antivirus has been the most used and appreciated free antivirus program for PC for at least 2 or 3 years.
in reality the most common antivirus on computers all over the world is Windows Defender / MSE, which is also pre-installed in Windows 8 and Windows 10, but by the same admission of Microsoft it cannot even be defined as an antivirus anymore given its weakness.
5) VLC is the universal program to watch videos on PC without the need to install codecs or other software.
Despite the years passing by, VLC is still the number one program to watch videos and films and it will still be in the future since in Windows 10 you will not be able to watch DVDs without using an external and different program than Windows Media Player, now reduced to almost software obsolete.
6) iTunes is the Apple program to manage iPhone, iPod and iPad from the computer and to buy applications.
Difficult to find computers where iTunes is not installed also because it is also a good program to organize and listen to your music.
7) UTorrent is still the most used program to download torrents from the internet.
