How to share files and folders on the network on Android

Sharing files and folders on the network allows users to access the resources stored on a single PC or on various devices, so as to avoid having to connect USB sticks to move a folder or file every time.
On PC with Windows you can quickly share folders on the network using the Properties button in the context menu (right mouse button), but if we wanted to share the folders and files present in the internal memory of our Android device "> Share files between PC and see shared folders (Windows, Linux and Mac)
How to share files and folders on the network on Android
1) X-plore File Manager

Who has gone through the golden years of Symbian phones, will remember that one of the most installed apps on Nokia was certainly X-plore File Manager, which allowed to manage the files on the device in a simple and fast way.
This app is also available on Android and is certainly one of the best out there in terms of functionality; with X-plore File Manager we can share the entire internal memory of the Android device to make it accessible from PC, other Android or even from iOS!
To enable network sharing of folders, tap on the Show button at the bottom, then enable the item File sharing via WiFi .
The homonymous entry will appear in the home of the app, click on it and enable the server to start sharing the internal memory on the network (the IP address and port number are clearly visible). In the Server settings we can change the username and password, the type of connection to be displayed and the folders to be shown during sharing.

2) File Manager +

Another app that we can use to share network files and folders on Android is File Manager +, an alternative app to ES File Manager without ads and without annoying banners.
With the app installed on the device, we can activate sharing via the network by tapping the Access from PC icon on the screen at the bottom right, then tapping on the Start the service item .
An IP address and a port number will be generated which we can use from a PC or other devices for remote access via the network.

3) Total Commander

Among all the file managers that offer the possibility to share files and folders on the network we could not recommend Total Commander, together with the combined app plugin it allows you to share entire folders or files to access them from other mobile devices or from PCs in the LAN. Once everything is installed we start Total Commander, select the file or folder you wish to share on the network, hold down on it for a few seconds to see the menu of options appear, where we will choose Send ; among the many possibilities, select the item Send via WiFi (Total Commander) to start the sharing server with IP address and port number (we can also use other Total Commander apps for sharing by scanning the QR code on the page).

4) WiFi FTP Server

Another app that we can use to share all the folders present in the internal memory of the Android device is WiFi FTP Server. With this app we can start with a few simple touches on the screen an FTP server on our Android device, so we can obtain an IP address and a port number that we can use both on PC with Windows, both on Mac and on other portable devices.
Once the app is installed, simply open it and click Start to start the server; all internal memory will be shared on the network and will be accessible to the indicated IP address.

5) Ftp Server

Among the simplest apps to configure and use for sharing files and folders on Android we recommend Ftp Server.
This app is really very basic, just open it and tap the big red button to enable sharing on the network of the folders present in the internal memory of the Android device. The IP address and the port will be immediately shown as soon as the server is active, complete with username and password (useful for security); we can change all the settings of the FTP server created by the app (including username and password) in the settings of the same.

6) Primitive FTPd

Another very simple app with an elementary interface is Primitive FTPd, which despite its name is one of the most complete apps to manage a real FTP server on the Android device. Once the app has started, all we have to do is tap the Play symbol at the top to start the server with the basic settings, which will provide you with an IP address and a port number that we can use to access from any device on the LAN. By opening the program settings we can change the port number, the type of connection and which ports must be opened by the server.
