Aomei is a company that has established itself in recent years in the release of truly valid programs for the management of partition and backup operating systems. The best advantage of Aomei programs is that, in addition to being among the best of their kind and easy to use even for those who are less experienced, they are also available for free in full versions of the most important functions.
The main program of this company is Aomei Backupper, which with version 4 becomes truly deserving of an article dedicated and recommended to everyone for installation on the Windows PC.
Aomei Backupper is a program for creating complete backups of important data on a computer, which offers extreme flexibility and useful and highly appreciated accessory functions.
In version 4, the possibility of being able to synchronize data in two disks or two folders, one of which may be that of a cloud storage system such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Onedrive, has been added .

The main limitations of the free version are the fact that it cannot be used in a commercial corporate environment and the lack of functions that are unnecessary for most home PC administrators, such as migrating the operating system to another PC, automatic backups. triggered by an event, file synchronization on NAS or other computers on the network and command line support.
All the other basic functions, which are the most important ones, are absolutely supported, easy and immediate to use.
After installation, clean and without deception, you can immediately discover these functions from the main interface.
In particular we have:
1) Backup function
You can then choose whether to backup the entire system by creating an image that can be restored at any time or whether to backup the entire hard disk, a single partition or only some files and folders.
In the backup options you can activate the encryption, the email notification, high compression, the division of the system image created so that you can, if you want, burn to multiple CDs or DVDs, activate the sector-by-sector copy of the disk.
It is also possible to schedule backups so that they are done automatically every x days and incrementally.
Incremental means that after the first backup, the subsequent ones will not start from scratch, but will only affect the changes detected between the first and second backup.
2) Restore the backup
When you want you can restore all the files saved in the backup.
This means that, in case you were forced to reset or format your PC due to a problem, you can reinstall Aomei Backupper and restore the backup created by bringing the computer back to the way it was before the problem.
3) Clone disk
Aomei Backupper makes it simple in the operation of cloning the hard disk to another.
Although in another article on how to clone the hard disk we used another program, this operation can also be done with Aomei Backupper in a very simple way.
This is also useful for moving Windows to an SSD or new hard disk, although for this I have successfully tested Easus ToDo Backup which remains my choice.
Cloning the system, as mentioned above, is a premium function of the paid program, which in any case serves above all to transfer an installation of Windows to another PC, which is not convenient for home PCs (because the two PCs should be identical).
4) Various utilities
Two really useful tools are included in the standard version of AOMEI Backupper.
You can make sure that a CD / DVD or USB stick is bootable when the computer is booted .
You can mount an ISO image to explore the files inside it.
Returning to the backup function, we find that in Aomei Backupper 4 there are two new functions compared to previous versions, namely Real Time Sync .
In practice, you can make sure that two folders are always the same automatically.
This is particularly useful if you are using a cloud program such as Google Drive or OneDrive, so that you can save documents, photos or other files online without having to manually copy them to the cloud folders.
Synchronizing means that any changes made to a file in one folder are also reflected in the other folder.
To activate synchronization in real time, press File Sync, then Schedule and click on the Daily option, changing it to Real Time Sync.
Keep in mind that this is not, in reality, a true backup, because every modification is synchronized therefore, in case of cancellation of a file, this will be automatically removed also in the other folder.
In the real time sync options, you can still ask to never delete any file during synchronization.
To select a cloud drive in the backup functions, instead, press the down arrow in Step 2 .
Aomei Backupper is a great program (and this is not an advertisement), one of those that I really recommend to use at all, because backups are fundamental for every computer and with this Backupper everything becomes easy and adaptable to every need.
