App to recover deleted photos on Android and iPhone

There is no trash bin on smartphones, so it may be that one or more photos are deleted by mistake becoming no longer recoverable, at least in theory.
Luckily it is possible to recover photos from the memory of any Android smartphone (Samsung, Huawei etc.) and from iPhone with some programs and applications that are able to put the data back together and extract them making them readable again.
This operation may or may not be successful based on the time that has elapsed since the photo was deleted, depending on the filling of the memory and on pure chance.
It may therefore be that a photo deleted some time ago is now recoverable because not yet overwritten while the one deleted today is already lost.
iPhone and Android have several procedures for recovering photos deleted by mistake .

Before starting, we remind you that, to avoid the problem of losing photos in case the phone breaks or is lost or is reset, just activate the automatic upload of the photos online or the automatic backup of Google Photos, so as to always have them online .
1) Recover iPhone photos from the gallery
Before trying anything with specific apps, you can find, in the Photos app and in the Album section, the recently deleted photos that have not yet been permanently deleted, just click on the item Recently deleted.

We will immediately find the photos deleted by mistake in the last period, up to a month later.
2) Recover iPhone photos from iCloud
We can attempt a photo recovery from iCloud automatic backup, if it was active before deletion.
On the iPhone we can check by going to Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud and checking that the item Photo is active (a Yes will appear next to it).
If the backup was activated, just install iCloud for Windows or Mac PC and so take a look at the photos saved from the backup and save them on your computer to recover them.
We can also access iCloud from a web browser, using the link here -> iCloud Web .
3) Recover Android photos from Google Photos
If on Android smartphones it is used as an automatic backup for Google Photos, very similar to iCloud and that we can download at any time from here -> Google Photos (Android).
If we accidentally deleted photos using Google Photos, we can recover them by going to the Google Photos Trash from the main menu.

We restore accidentally deleted photos.
If we use the smartphone app to delete photos ( Gallery or Images ), we can still recover the photos saved in the cloud on Google Photos by installing the client on PC and Mac from here -> Google Backup and Sync .
Alternatively we can visit the Google Photos website from here -> Google Photos Web .
4) Recover Android photos with app
To recover photos permanently deleted from Android phones there are instead applications, free or otherwise that do not cost more than 3 Euros, designed specifically to recover deleted photos.
The only problem is that most of these apps only work with smartphones
with unlocked root permissions.
So if you delete photos by mistake and want to recover them at all costs, you need to unlock the Android phone with root, which can be very simple and painless or more laborious enough to require a complete reset of the phone.
There are guides to unlock every Android smartphone with root, below we report those on the site.
- How to root almost all Android smartphones (HTC, Samsung, LG and others) with toolkits
- Programs and guide to ROOT Android
Once you have obtained root permissions, you can immediately try to recover photos deleted from memory with the Disk Digger application.

Simply start the scan, choose the type of file to be recovered, in our case the JPG images and see which ones can be saved.
Another app to try after DiskDigger is Undeleter, capable of recovering any type of file from Android memory, which is free if the goal is only to restore images.

Again there is a scan with the ability to save photos made visible again.
5) Recover Android photos from microSD
If a microSD card was used to save photos taken with the smartphone, this can be inserted into the card reader of the computer and scanned using a program for the recovery of photos deleted from memory cards such as, for example, Photorec .

6) Recover iPhone and Android photos with external programs
If what you were looking for is not found, you should use an external program .
There are several that you can use, all very similar to each other, which you can try for free with limitations to unlock by buying the full version.
If you decide to buy one of these programs and do not give the desired results, it is not because it does not work, but because the deleted photos are now lost forever and no other program will be able to do the miracle.
- One certainly reliable, is Easus' Mobisaver Free, which for free has the limitation of being able to recover only one photo at a time and not all those found in memory.
This program is easy to use and recovers both from the phone memory and from any backups found on the computer in iTunes and iCloud.
- Another effective program is Jihosoft, downloadable for free trial, capable of recovering in one fell swoop all the photos deleted from the iPhone memory.
- Third option is Wondershare Dr Fone, which advertises itself as the number one in the world, all automatic, capable of recovering photos, messages and everything from the memory of an iPhone even reset and formatted.
- Fourth option is Phonerescue, another very effective and easy software for PC, which recovers every image and photo from the iPhone memory to save and keep it.
