Those who use an Android tablet or smartphone know well that among the options to lock and unlock the Android screen there is the lock sequence that involves tracing precise points with your finger. This mode of protecting your smartphone is one of the safest and most reliable protections for Android, also appreciated because it is easy to remember and quick to unlock.
On Windows there are different ways to protect your computer with passwords including also several external programs or innovative services such as, for example, Mouse Lock to lock the mouse, keyboard and Windows desktop by receiving an email for each access attempt.
Another alternative to protect your computer is the Eusing Maze Lock program which allows you to set up a screen lock pattern with identical sequence to that of Android .
This locking system becomes easy to unlock and difficult, if not impossible, to decipher.
Once downloaded and installed, the free Eusing Block Maze program is asked to configure a " pattern " or a sequence using the mouse (or your finger on a Microsoft Surface with Windows 8).
Click on Reset Pattern and draw the sequence that will be required to repeat to unlock the computer.
You can also choose to use a 4x4 or 5x5 grid if you want to make the combination of security extremely difficult to decipher.
With the Backup Pattern button you can save the image of the combination so that you can recover it if you forget it.
Eusing Block Maze remains running in the background and automatically activates the lock screen after a certain period of time.
So if you leave your computer to go to the bathroom or bar, you can rest assured that Windows will not be usable by strangers.
You can also use the Windows + A key combination (or simply click Lock Computer from the context menu) to lock the computer manually.
If you open the program control panel you can configure some additional options.
In particular, it is possible, in the General tab, to activate or deactivate the following options:
- Start the Autolock when Windows starts;
- decide how long to lock the computer;
- Time after which to turn off the monitor:
- Hide the unlock window;
- disconnect the internet when blocked;
- Display a message in the event of an error in unlocking;
- Turn off or disable the PC in case of incorrect access attempts;
- Keyboard lock;
- Blocking mode between normal, safe (where the lines are not seen in the grid) and dynamic (where the points of the sequence must be indicated by letters that form a random password).
- Customizable warning message.
In the third tab you can also change the background image of the lock screen.
This simple program therefore allows you to install a screen protection system on Windows identical to that of Android, with unlocking sequence for XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
