Bills with Paypal, which can be paid online

PayPal is an online payment tool used by customers and sellers that avoids having to share sensitive information (such as credit card numbers or IBAN), allowing you to exchange money via a simple e-mail address.
This feature has brought PayPal to the top of the list of services with which you can receive and spend money on compatible e-shop services.
In addition, if you have any money on your PayPal account or if you have connected your bank account with Paypal, you can use it to pay your bills online quickly and easily without having to queue at the post office!
Find out on this page which bills you can pay online using your PayPal balance.
PayPal: how the balance is used
PayPal allows you to take advantage (in addition to the balance) of any credit card or bank account to pay anything, not just bills.
The system used by the service is very precise: when paying online, the PayPal balance will be used if it is greater than the amount to be paid (if you have a € 100 balance and the bill is € 50 for example).
If the PayPal balance is not enough to pay the bill or any other payment, the entire balance will be used and the remaining part will be subtracted from the sources of money added in PayPal (Prepaid card, PostePay, credit card or bank account).
If the PayPal balance is zero, only the sources of money added to PayPal will be used to pay the bill online (bank account or credit card).
If you don't have a PayPal account yet, see how to activate one and start using it with the following guide -> Create a Paypal account to pay and receive payments online
Online bills with PayPal
Wind Infostrada
If you have an ADSL or fiber optic subscription with the Infostrada operator (owned by Wind) you can pay the bill using a PayPal account, just visit the following site -> Home Infostrada
From the homepage of the site click at the top on Enter to enter the customer area.

You will be asked for access credentials to the service; if you have not yet registered on the Infostrada portal, you can use the Register buttons to use your phone number and the contract number or speed up the registration using a Facebook account.

Once you have entered your credentials, click on the Customer Area button that will appear in the sidebar to enter the section of the site reserved for Infostrada users.
To pay your Infostrada bills online with PayPal, go to the side menu Your telephone account and use the Pago online item, as shown in the image below. This item is present only if there are bills to be paid, therefore its presence is bound.

A window will now open allowing you to choose the type of payment: Credit card, PayPal or debit on the current account.
Click on the PayPal section, put the check mark on Remember my data to log in automatically (so as to speed up future payments of Infostrada bills via PayPal), enter (if you wish) a valid email in the field Do you want to receive the notification of your payment ">
The Infostrada website will redirect you to the PayPal website, with the sum to be paid ready; just enter your PayPal login credentials and click on Confirm to authorize the payment of the bill.
Enel (National Electricity Service)
The former Enel (now National Electricity Service) allows you to pay bills using the account associated with the electricity service and a PayPal account. To start visit the site -> National Electricity Service
From the site I mentioned you can use the Customer Area field to enter your private area through your username and password; if you are not yet registered, recover the serial number of the meter or the customer code (you can find it in the paper bills) and click on the Register button to carry out the registration procedure.

Once logged in click on the button Your bill to access the area where all the bills paid and the one (or those) to be paid are present; to pay an unpaid electricity bill, open the Pay the bill menu , as indicated in the red arrow in the image below.

A preview window will open where you will be reminded that you can pay your bills using a PayPal account or any credit or prepaid card. Click on Continue when you are ready to pay.

The site will ask you to select the bill to be paid and to log in via PayPal account to confirm the payment. As already seen with Infostrada, now enter your PayPal login credentials and click on Confirm to authorize the payment of the electricity bill.
Other services compatible with PayPal payment
I have shown you two of the services with which you can pay your bills using a PayPal account, but this type of payment is increasingly gaining ground among the essential services, so it is better to check the site of your service provider (be it electricity, gas, water or the internet) to see if you can use this method to pay.
Many supplies are offered through local services and they don't necessarily support PayPal (maybe they don't even offer online payment!).
Below I have collected all the main service providers that accept online payment showing you whether they support PayPal or not; maybe you use one of the following services but you still don't know you can pay with PayPal!
Here is the complete list of services that support online bill payments:
- Telecom Italia / TIM : unfortunately with TIM you cannot pay your bill with PayPal, but the latter can be used to top up online a valid rechargeable SIM SIM.
- Vodafone : on the website it is possible to pay only the top-ups to the SIM rechargeable with PayPal. The telephone bill can be paid by credit card, bank domiciliation or postal payment slip.
- Tre allows you to pay with Paypal by setting up automatic top-up on the Customer Area 3 site.
- Fastweb : it is not possible to use PayPal. The methods for paying bills online are the RID (direct debit from a bank account) or a debit from a credit card.
- Now TV and Infinity TV : you can pay for subscriptions for these streaming services using a PayPal account.
- Mediaset Premium or Sky (Pay TV) : it is not possible to pay the subscription with PayPal.
- Enel Energia (free market): as for the national electricity service, it is possible to pay bills online via PayPal.
