Mobile Internet rates and subscriptions for LTE modems

The ideal profile of the person who subscribes to a mobile Internet subscription for LTE modem is that of a normal person, young and curious like many others, who often moves outside the home or lives in an area or city where the landlines are very old and ADSL does not exceed 7 Mega. This unfortunately happens in many parts of Italy, even around cities such as Rome and Milan there are areas that are not yet adequately covered by the various telephone operators and Web providers. The most logical, economic and obligatory solution is to use a mobile internet subscription provided from a cell phone company like Vodafone, Tre, Wind, TIM or Iliad.
In this guide we will see together the current offers to connect to the network from USB modems or Wi-Fi modems provided by these companies.

Guide to mobile Internet subscriptions for LTE modems
The problems to face when we want to use a mobile subscription to replace a fixed line are numerous and put the customer in a situation where we will have to decide the lesser evil. In fact, it is a question of betting on the company without having too many preventive indications and, therefore, signing a blind subscription that can last up to two mandatory years. After having signed the subscription contract, you can check if the connection is as efficient and fast as you would expect. None of the mobile internet providers in fact ensures full speed at any time of the day and you are warned, in small notes below, that the speed may be less than the promised speed, especially at peak times. If all goes well then, after signing up for a subscription you can browse the Internet from your computer using this mobile connection provided by a wireless receiver.
Unfortunately, there is another bad surprise: all the internet plans of Vodafone, Tre, Wind, Tim and Iliad are limited in the size of the data traffic, so we will always have to pay close attention and check often if we are close to the limit. Once these limits are exceeded, additional costs are charged with forced withdrawal which becomes difficult to contest in any case or the connection speed is drastically reduced.
Offers for LTE modems
Let's now see in detail the various offers provided by operators available in Italy; we will prefer the offers that include the modem in the cost of the subscription, so that you can browse immediately without having to buy a modem separately.
1) Three
Cone Tre we can use the offer in combination with the WebFamily Wi-Fi modems, visible here -> Wi-Fi WebFamily .

Together with the modem, 3Cube Special and 3Cube Special XL subscriptions are offered, which at a cost of € 10 or € 15 monthly offer 30 or 50 GB per month, with the possibility of surfing without data limits at night (if we sail from midnight to 8 in the morning we will not consume data traffic, thus becoming to all effects a flat as ADSL). The offer is decidedly attractive, in particular if in our area we have good coverage of the 3 we will be able to navigate up to 150 Mega and up to 10 devices connected to the mini modems, even in the absence of electricity thanks to the integrated 1500 mAh battery in some portable LTE modem models.
2) Vodafone
Vodafone has several offers to be exploited with the 4G WiFi mini modem marketed with the company logo and reachable from here -> 4G Mobile Wi-Fi .

With an initial contribution of € 10 and an offer to choose between Total Giga Digital (€ 10 per month for 30 GB) or Total Giga (€ 30 per month for 50 GB) we will be able to navigate even outside the home thanks to the small modem with integrated battery, to which we can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously. No discount for night hours, but it is included in the Video Plus price to view streaming videos without consuming Giga and Vodafone TV Mobile without limits (we can see its streaming content without ever consuming data). The speed is very good considering the good coverage that Vodafone enjoys in almost all of Italy, even if the prices are much higher than the direct competition.
3) Wind
Wind currently does not offer LTE sticks or modems on the site, so we will have to choose an appropriate LTE data offer and a personal LTE modem to be purchased separately. Wind's best Internet offer is INTERNET 30 GIGA, which at a cost of € 20 a month offers 30 GB that can also be used in hotspots without problems.
To take advantage of these GB we will have to buy a small portable LTE modem like the one available here -> Alcatel IK40V-2BALIT1 (€ 40). With this modem we can connect 15 different devices and we can also use it outside the home thanks to the integrated battery.
4) TIM
TIM offers various types of subscription to be used to surf the Internet with the LTE modem included in the price. The best offer we can take advantage of is the 20GB Internet, which can be visited here -> 20GB Internet at 10 Euros per month. The offer offers LTE navigation traffic with the LTE modem by paying an initial surcharge, so we can immediately browse and connect all our devices to the TIM network, which is one of the best in Italy for coverage and average access speed.

The modem offered is of the latest generation and from the outside it may seem like a real ADSL router for when it is sophisticated and technological, instead it works using the LTE network with the SIM TIM included.
5) Iliad
Iliad also appeared in the telephone operator market, which focuses on a really convenient offer for everyone; if we are interested the website of the new operator is available here -> Iiad .

Iliad's only offer includes 50GB in LTE that can also be used for hotspots at a cost of € 8 per month, currently the best value for money if we only consider the GB offered and the final cost. To be able to surf with this offer we will obviously need a WiFi modem, like the one already seen here at Alcatel (58 €). The coverage for the moment is based on the signal of 3 and Wind, so we are not on the levels of Vodafone and TIM, but to be able to surf at low cost this is currently the best offer that we can subscribe.

Conclusions
Currently, if we really want to replace ADSL with an LTE connection to be exploited at home or outdoors according to our needs, the only really convenient offers are those of 3 (with the modem included) and the Iliad offer, which with a bargain price, it offers many Giga to be used for the hotspot of other PCs, Macs and laptops. With the 3 we can also benefit from a flat night period so that we can download the heaviest things only at night, while with Iliad we can save a lot and get a good number of Giga to be used on any occasion, even if we have to take into account the purchase of a separate key or LTE modem. The other operators have either too high prices (Vodafone and TIM) or deficient offers (without modem), so you might as well concentrate only on the operators that we have recommended above.
