ISO is the file that can be kept on your computer or burned to a DVD using any burning program such as CDBurnerXP.
You can also copy the ISO to a USB stick which makes itself bootable automatically with the RUFUS program.
Windows 8.1 can be downloaded for free from any PC, even if it is not a Windows 8 system.
The downloaded file is almost 4GB large so it will take some time and a space greater than 4 GB (in the case of a copy on the USB stick).
Everyone can download Windows 8.1 for free, even if, if you want to do a new installation, you will always need a product key.
This tool is however a great convenience for those who need to reinstall Windows 8.1 or repair Windows 8 in case of errors by doing the recovery or reinitialisation.
