Activate control on Facebook profile and tag protection

Facebook, driven by the news of the new Google+ (plus), has introduced some changes to facilitate both the privacy settings, and the sharing of messages, photos, tags and other content with the desired people.
The question Who can see this on Facebook "> From now, every time you are tagged in a photo you must give approval and on the profile you can also decide who can see this photo, if only friends a group or list of friends, if all or none.
From now on you can approve or reject any tag that someone tries to add to photos and also to messages but this option must be activated manually.
The privacy settings part has now been completely redesigned.
In the initial part you can decide the default privacy level of the posts published by the profile, i.e. the box where public, friends or personalized is written.
Then there are 5 screens of options:
1) Connection on your part : where you can choose who can look for you, who can add you to friends, who can send you messages, who can write on the bulletin board, who can see what others write on my bulletin board.
2) How tags work : this is the most renewed part and also concerns photos.
You can then decide whether to activate the control on the profile or whether to activate that process of approval of the posts and photos in which you are tagged .
The second option, that of checking the tags, concerns the possibility of rejecting or approving the tags added by friends on the photos or posts published by me.
The other options are instead inherited from the old privacy settings:
- Visibility of posts published on your profile, where you are tagged.
- Suggestions of your name in photo tags .
- Ability for friends to mention me in sharing location in Facebook Places
3) Applications and websites concerns the privacy settings for the various applications installed and nothing changes compared to before.
4) Restrict your audience to old posts : this new option allows you to set the "Friends" privacy level to all old posts that had been published publicly or for Friends of friends.
5) Blocked elements is the section where you can set prohibitions to be contacted by specific people, not to receive invitations to events and where to unblock blocked applications and games.
The main part of the changes is therefore part 2, that of protecting the profile .
Going to the Facebook profile page you will notice that, by pressing on the " What are you thinking about? " Field, it becomes much easier to tag a person in a post, by pressing the + button on the left.
When you mention a friend in a post and set the " Friends " level of visibility, all the friends and contacts of the people tagged in the post will also be included.
If the friend mentioned in the post has activated the profile check, he will still have to authorize the tag.
But beware that, from now on, a non-friend can tag us in the photos and if profile control has not been activated, you will not receive any notification or warning.
If a stranger tags me in a photo, that photo will not appear on my profile anyway.
This now allows you to tag even unregistered people on Facebook and unfriendly people.
The options for removing a tag or content on Facebook are now clearer and if you press the X next to an element (post or photo) of your profile you can choose: whether to make it disappear from the profile, whether to delete the tag without removing the photo or the message from the profile, to send a message to the person who published the post asking him to remove the post from Facebook, report the post to Facebook if it is offensive, block the person and prevent him from tagging me again.
Among the other minor changes, note the View button at the top right as if to see how friends or strangers see us.
The word " Public " replaces the word " Everyone " but does not change the meaning: public posts can be searched freely.
Since a lot of people use Facebook to talk about where they are, where they have been or where they want to go, it is now possible to add the " where you are " position from the computer, directly by clicking on the marker in the writing box of the status update.
If after posting a post on the profile you have to rethink, you can change the visibility level of the post at any time (before it could not be done).
So if you write something public and then, the next day, you don't want it to be publicly visible, you can change it.
Note also the umpteenth interface change of the photos, now with a white background, to be browsed using the right and left arrows on the keyboard.
It seems to me that I have not forgotten anything, however, for any doubt, do not hesitate to ask questions or ask for explanations.
