Test app for the cellular data network

After doing the internet speed test on the ADSL, let's see here how to test the cellular data network.
This test can be useful for three reasons: you can know if the internet speed is higher in one place than in another with the same operator, you can make differences between the internet speeds with various operators, you can check if it is worth it is worth buying or not a 3G or 4G modem or dongle for computer data connection.
The app we are going to try here is not brand new but has added a very interesting function that allows you to test the data connection, but also to see where it takes the signal throughout Europe and, specifically, in Italy, therefore discovering where you are can connect in 3G or 4G with Tre, Vodafone, TIM and Wind .
The app is nPerf, free for Android and for iPhone, which works a bit like Speedtest, albeit with multiple functions.
In particular, it is possible to do a complete test with nPerf on the quality of the active internet connection on the mobile phone, be it wifi or data, giving a final score to be compared with other users.
You can therefore find out the national speed average of the main internet operators and suppliers in Italy, the local average, i.e. in the region where you are located, the quality of the internet on web browsing and video streaming.
In addition to the connection test, you can explore, from the main menu on the left, the coverage map that highlights whether cellphones take in 2G, 3G, 4G and also 4G +, with Tre, TIM, Vodafone and Wind .
Always from the application you can also use the active mapping function, which allows you to record the signal reception data in a path to walk on foot or by car, so as to participate in the compilation of the map for all users.
nPerf works very well and can definitely come in handy when you need to go to a more isolated place to find out first if you can connect to the internet from your mobile phone or 4G modem.
However, this is not the only unique app of its kind and in the past we have already written how to see 2G 3G 4G coverage for Tim, Tre, Wind and Vodafone phones via OpenSignalMaps, which also works as a website and is perhaps more complete.
