ADSL and Fibra Infostrada (Wind): offers and rates

Continuing the examination of the various best offers to have ADSL and Fiber internet at home, after describing in detail the TIM offers, the Fastweb rates and the ADSL and Fibra di Vodafone, let's talk about the fourth Italian operator of telephony and web : Infostrada .
Infostrada, owned by Wind, offers itself as an alternative to Telecom for fixed telephony and internet access from home. The main advantage of Infostrada is the price, generally lower than its competitors. The defect, on the other hand, is the speed of the internet, not exactly the best, and, in many cases, the troubles with the assistance, of which many complain. The problem, which also all ADSL providers except Telecom have, is that Infostrada almost always relies on Telecom, thus becoming a mere line dealer. This means being Telecom's indirect and B-series customers, with strangled internet speed and much slower assistance (it is called Infostrada which must turn to Telecom which, of course, queues those who are not direct customers).
In theory, the verification of ADSL and Fiber Optic coverage for Infostrada should tell us if it is reached directly (called ULL) or if it passes through Telecom (Wholesale). There is obviously the optical fiber, to be verified in the coverage and with identical prices to the ADSL subscription.
When the verification of the Infostrada coverage (from this page) says that a 20 Mega ADSL is available then it should be fine, if instead it talks about the 7 Mega connection it is better to avoid. However, since the coverage verification service is not very detailed, it is better to call technical assistance (do it more than once because some operators do not know what to answer and only want to sell) and ask for precise information on the matter.
Infostrada offers and rates (see also official website), as mentioned at the beginning, are however advantageous for those who want to save a little.
- WindADSL is the ADSL offer for those without fiber coverage. The price is 27 Euros per month in promotion (if any) or 37 Euros at full price. A line is offered to surf the internet from home up to 200 Mb / s in download and 20 Mb / s in upload and the landline phone with free calls to all, landline and mobile. The activation is free if you subscribe from the website and there do not seem to be any restrictions (while with the others the activation is paid if you are not with them for at least 4 years). The modem is offered for free for 48 months but it is always better to choose to use your own modem / router, perhaps better and more powerful (the talk made about the Telecom modem is worth).
A Wind SIM card is also combined with an unlimited internet subscription that can also be used with the fast SIM connection for a traffic of 50 gigabytes that can be shared with other SIM Wind.
- Fibra1000, on the other hand, is the same as WindADSL, only that there are free calls to all fixed and mobile numbers in Italy and abroad and the Internet in Fibra. This subscription costs 37 Euros per month or, if there is a promotion, 27 Euros. Here too there is the SIM Windabbinata with unlimited internet.
In any case, the Wind ADSL offer has connection speeds that vary according to the type of line being covered:
FIBRA1000 (in FTTH): up to 1000 Mb / s in download and 100 Mb / s in upload
Internet (in FTTC): up to 200 Mb / s in download and 20 Mb / s in upload
Internet (in FTTC): up to 100 Mb / s in download and 20 Mb / s in upload in FTTC
Internet20 (in ADSL): up to 20 Mb / s in download and 1 Mb / s in upload in ADSL
Internet7 (in ADSL): up to 7 Mb / s in download and 256 Kb / s in upload in ADSL
Keep in mind that those who have a SIM Wind on their mobile phone can then take advantage of the Infostrada options to get discounts on their home bill when subscribing to a new ADSL line.
