10 very useful finger gestures on iPhone and iPad

Sometimes the easiest way to get things is also not the most obvious way.
Speaking of iOS, the system of the iPhone and iPad, there are many shortcuts and features that can be activated by making finger gestures on the screen that are not the most intuitive, but that are worth knowing to be quick to use your smartphone or tablet .
In this article, therefore, we see 10 of the most useful (and least known) gestures to use on an iPhone or iPad, leaving out the more classic and discounted ones such as the one to see the control bar or to do a search.
1) Pull to update
This is a rather frequent gesture for iPhone users.
If you look at a web page, a list of messages or another application with dynamic content, to update the contents and see if there are news or changes, just swipe downwards until you see an icon at the top indicating the update of the app.
2) Swipe to see the date of the messages
iOS has a fairly clean interface, though sacrificing some information.
In the SMS app, to see when a message has been sent or received, simply swipe your finger from right to left.
Likewise, you can swipe over a message in Mail to get more options, even to delete it.
3) Go back
With many applications including Mail, Messages, Settings, Notes and Safari, you can go back one screen, for example by returning to the previous message or web page before swiping your finger from left to right.
The gesture can also be done to just take a peek at the previous screen.
4) Return to the Home screen on the iPad
On iPad, four or five fingers can be used to facilitate management.
Pinch the screen with four or five fingers to return to the main screen without having to press the center button, or you can swipe with four or five fingers to the right or left to see the multitasking interface.
(If these gestures don't work, you may need to turn them on in Settings -> General.)
5) Type faster by dividing the iPad keyboard
To write fast on iPad using your thumbs, it is convenient to split the keyboard by holding down the keyboard key or pulling the keyboard to one side with your finger.
6) Numbers, symbols and capital letters
If you don't like using Shift to make a capital letter, or the numeric key to write a number, there is a faster way: just press the Shift key and drag your finger on the desired letter.
Alternatively, you can press the numeric key and drag it to the number you want.
for special characters, you can hold down a keyboard key to choose different special characters for each letter.
7) Move an event to the calendar
In the Calendar application, you can move the events over the days as you would with the icons, by touching and holding.
8) Press and hold the button to compose a new email message, in the lower right corner, to open the drafts .
9) Press and hold the Back button in Safari to view the history .
This works both in Safari and in Google Chrome and perhaps also in other browsers.
10) Touch the Menu bar to scroll up a text .
When you are reading a web page, article or other long text in any application, there is no need to scroll manually to go back to the beginning, just touch the menu bar at the top of the screen to go to the beginning.
