The solution to disable this feature could be to use Facebook by staying offline in chat, without opening the private messages section.
If, however, you still want to stay in touch with others, but you don't want to send any read notification on the messages received and you want to hide the "visa", you need to install an extension on your browser because Facebook, on its own, has no option to disable this read receipt.
