Those who install Windows 10 now, updating from a Windows 7 or 8 or even from scratch, will find that some of Microsoft's historical programs are gone: Windows Media Player.
As already noted, Microsoft has practically closed the development of Windows Media Player by replacing it with a modern application for listening to music on the computer, Microsoft Groove Music.
Although, as we know, there are many programs to watch videos and programs to listen to music on PC that are certainly better than Windows Media Player, in some ways and by tradition it may still be preferable to use the old WMP, which allows you to do both things together.
In Windows 10, Windows Media Player has disappeared, it is no longer in the programs folder, it is not present in the list of applications and not even in the Start menu.
Even if it is not installed, Windows Media Player is still present in the Windows 10 installation files and it is therefore possible to return it in a rather simple way, and reinstall it .

To reinstall Windows Media Player in Windows 10 there are two ways.
The first way is to open the Settings application from the Start Menu.
By opening the Settings, go to the App, then to the App and features, click on Manage optional features and press on Add a feature .
Then scroll down the list, find Windows Media Player and install it on Windows 10.
If Windows Media Player is not found here, close the settings and go to the Control Panel .
The Control Panel can be found from the search bar of the Start menu.
From here, click on Programs, then on Programs and Features and then click on the link on the left Activating and deactivating Windows features .
In the window that opens, locate the item Media Features, click it and then discover Windows Media Player .
Activate the box, then press OK, wait for the installation and complete it.
From now on, in the Windows 10 Start menu you will find the good old Windows Media Player, version 12, which can be used to listen to music, watch videos and even burn audio CDs.
