Find from where an Email is sent to trace the sender from the email address

Today, more emails are received from unknown senders than from real people.
Among these messages, some of them spam, it often happens to also receive job offers written in correct Italian, to receive messages from strangers, proposals for competitions, unexpected prizes, notices from the bank and so on.
To check if these messages are true, beyond the fact that if you are only suspicious, it is already convenient to remove it and put it in the spam filter, it can be easy to verify where they come from .
Even for e-mail messages received from known people, one can have the curiosity to know where they are.
On the internet it is not easy to protect your privacy and you must always consider that when sending communications, you are traceable with some ease (never send insults via Email).
To trace and find a person or, at least, the place from which one sent an email, just open the email and capture the sender's IP address .

This IP address is visible in what is called the Header of the message in English, in Italian the Header, which is found in different ways depending on the service used.
On this page there are updated instructions:
For example, on Gmail, to see the source of a message and the sender's IP, you must open an Email and click on the drop-down menu on the right (where there is " reply "), the entry : " Show original ".
In the new browser page that opens, you will see, before the message, a whole series of parameters.
On Yahoo Mail the same thing can be done by opening the email and then clicking on Other .
On Hotmail or Outlook.com you must open an email and then press on the drop-down menu where there is the reply button, on the right and choose " view full header ".
Unfortunately, for now, it is illegible (I imagine the problem will be corrected shortly) so it is imperative to configure hotmail on Outlook to read the details of the message.
If you are using Microsoft Outlook, the header can be viewed from the Options after selecting a message.
Depending on the configuration of the e-mail server used by the sender and depending on the Mail service used to receive and read the emails, the IP can then be found by looking for it in the message header .
The right one could be the one written between two round and square brackets ([e]) on the line " Received by ", " Received from " and it is recognized because it is of the type: 65.45.32.156
If there is more than one, the most reliable should be the last one starting from the top.
That address is the one that will then need to be searched to find the place from which the Email originated .
The right IP address never starts with 10, with 192.168 and is never 127.0.0.1.
This IP address does not appear in all emails and it can be verified whether our emails are traceable according to the provider.
If you get a real IP address, then you can go to the Visual Trace Route website and find out where the mail was written on the world map.
Write the IP address number and press on Host Trace; the last point marked on the map is the place where the email was sent.
If you press on Proxy Trace, you go instead and return, starting from that IP to the Yougetsignal.com site hosted by the Dreamhost provider.
This will probably not be the exact location of the home or office where the computer used to write the message is located, but it may be very close to us.
If you have difficulty understanding what this IP address is or if you have doubts, you can go to the Trace Email site which provides a free tool to paste the header (not the body of the message) and obtain, as a result, the geographical origin of the E-mail .
Another excellent site where you can paste the header and locate the sender and which also contains a detailed explanation of how it works is WhatsmyIpAddress and Trasir
If there are no other ip addresses except the internal ones starting with 10 or 192 or if the location made by these sites is not credible, the only other thing you can do is look for who the sender's email address belongs to . on people search engines.
In particular, the best is Pipl who scours the web and social networks looking for whether that Email address was used as a person's contact.
Always from these sites you can, alternatively, search for the name of an individual and see all his activity on the internet.
Since millions of people are registered on Facebook, it is not to be overlooked a search by email address on the social network, where it is still possible.
If you have a name, you can also search for pictures and photos of a particular person.
