Lowest rates for LTE Internet key

While the rates for surfing the internet on a mobile phone never drop, they have at least many less limits than in the past and become good alternatives for having internet everywhere without having to connect to a public Wi-Fi network (often too slow for our purposes). If for work we often use USB LTE sticks to navigate, in this guide we will do a bit of clarity by showing you the rates dedicated to the aforementioned sticks, indicating the lowest rates for surfing the internet . We deliberately omit subscriptions from this analysis, which are less and less convenient compared to rechargeable offers.
We anticipate that some of the offers are designed to be used on smartphones or tablets, but that have no limit of use: the SIMs with these active offers can be inserted in an LTE USB key and used to surf the Internet from the PC (respect in the past, many of the costs related to tethering, which required looking for special rates for keys, have disappeared).

The various telephone operators that we are going to show you are sorted in order of price, from the most convenient to the least convenient, so you can immediately access the best rate for the LTE Internet key.
1) TIM
The most convenient offer for LTE keys is TIM, which offers 20GB per month for tablets, modems and smartphones at the price of 10 Euros per month . Thanks to it we will get a SIM card enabled for navigation even from a stick, using the 4.5G network offered by TIM. Upon exceeding the available gigabytes and in the absence of other active promotions, we can navigate thanks to the gig of escort at a cost of € 1.90 for every 200 megabytes (up to a maximum of 1 gig for a total of € 9.50). The activation also includes the purchase of a TIM Card at a cost of € 25, of which € 5 for activation and € 20 of prepaid traffic included. If 20 GB is sufficient for what we have to do with the LTE key, this is currently the best offer we can activate, considering also that TIM offers one of the best networks available in Italy.
If, on the other hand, 20 GB are too few, TIM also offers other offers with a higher number of GB but at decidedly uncompetitive prices (you might as well choose one of the other offers below).
2) Iliad
The French operator Iliad, which entered the Italian market in 2018, offers a complete offer with the Internet up to 50 GB, unlimited messages and calls, but which we can use without problems even inside the LTE key. Iliad uses both its dedicated network (up to 4G +) and the Wind antennas where it is not present, so as to always offer good coverage for surfing the Internet on computers. The only offer that can be subscribed at the moment foresees a monthly cost of € 7.99, with a constraint that it will never increase in the months to come (they have made a lot of advertising campaigns on this aspect). It is currently the offer with the best price / data ratio, given that 50GB are difficult to finish even from a PC (always if we do not download too heavy programs and disk images).
3) Wind
Immediately after Iliad we find the offer of Wind with its All Digital, which offers 40 GB of high-speed Internet at a cost of € 15 per month, reserved for all those who decide to subscribe online. Good coverage and also moderate speed, especially in large Italian cities; there may be some problems only in the suburbs or in some areas of Italy.
4) Three
The operator Tre is among the best for LTE USB sticks, given the flat data grains that can be exploited. At the moment the best is definitely the Super Internet 50GB LTE which, at a cost of € 8.99 per month, offers 60 GB to be exploited without limits if you pay by credit card, otherwise the rechargeable costs 10 Euros per month for 30 GB LTE. Good coverage and also good speed, since it can take advantage of both the proprietary antennas and the Wind antennas (since they are now managed by a single company).
5) Vodafone
Vodafone is one of the best telephone companies in Italy but the prices tend to be much higher than the competition, even if we are looking for a data SIM for the LTE key. The best is Total Giga which, at a cost of 10 € per month, offers the possibility to surf during the day up to 30 GB or 50 GB for 30 Euros per month. All in all not a higher price than the competition, since Vodafone offers excellent coverage and excellent connection speed (one of the best in Italy together with TIM) not only in large cities but also in small municipalities, which are often reached by good speeds thanks to Vodafone (and this partly justifies the very high prices for each type of product).
6) Other offers of virtual operators
In addition to the operators that we have shown above, there are other offers that we can sign with other virtual operators, which use the TIM and Vodafone networks to offer a cheaper service (since they do not have all the infrastructure typical of a complete operator ).
The best offers we can sign up for are:
- Postemobile
- I have. Mobile
- Fastweb Mobile
- CoopVoce
To conclude, we remind you that, to surf the internet abroad, there is now free roaming in the EU countries (therefore the same rates) and there are special plans that are convenient, such as those that we can find in our dedicated guide available here down.
