6 ways to read websites better

In addition to playing and staying on Facebook, we who surf the internet from morning to night with the tablet or PC read many articles, blogs, news, stories, guides, tutorials and encyclopedia information every day. There are sites like Navigaweb. big and clear writings and other sites instead written small, with inadequate contrast, with colors that blend or with too many advertisements.
It is worth finding extensions and tools to better read websites, without straining your eyes and mind.
To modify websites and read better we have several possibilities, including:
1) Invert colors (for night reading)
If we find ourselves in front of the computer at night, in a dimly lit room, an overly bright LCD screen only tires our eyes and causes us a terrible headache. The black text on a white background works well in general, but it would be better to change the lighting of the monitor or invert the colors of the web pages for easier reading (a bit like what happens on the satellite navigator when driving at night).
Among the extensions to activate the inversion of colors you can use High Contrast on Google Chrome or Text Contrast for Firefox .
The Firefox add-on allows you to invert the text colors of a web page.
The high Contrast extension for Google Chrome instead is a button that activates or deactivates various contrast modes, black and white or color inversion.
Similar to the Firefox extension, you can turn color inversion on or off using the extension button or a keyboard shortcut (CTRL + Shift + F11).
A big advantage of this extension is that you can change your preferred color scheme for each individual website.
In this way, it will not be necessary to switch colors when visiting a site that already offers a night reading mode.
Alternatively, you can activate the dark theme on all sites with Chrome and Firefox using a special extension.
2) Save your favorite web pages online to read them later
If you come across an interesting article but don't have the desire or time to read it right away, you can save it to read it later, perhaps using your tablet or mobile phone.
Undeniably, reading even long articles from a tablet, perhaps lying on the bed, is much more comfortable than doing it from a computer.
The "read later" tools have been very successful so much so that there are at least three that can be used.
The most popular is Pocket, which allows you to save your favorite web pages for later reading and which provides extensions for web browsers and applications for Android, iPhone and iPad, Kindle Fire, Windows mobile and tablets. Just create an account and install the browser extension or put a bookmarklet button which, if pressed, saves the article. Pages saved from different devices are all gathered in one place. The articles read from the Pocket site are also cleaned of unnecessary elements leaving only the article in view, as if it were taken from a book.
3) Mercury Reader instead is the ideal extension to read and print texts on websites without other elements .
Most websites (including this one) have headers, sidebars and a lot of buttons that are useful when browsing, but which, in some sites, disturb too much. Mercury Reader automatically removes all these unnecessary elements, without going to another site, to better read the websites. Mercury Reader also supports saving your favorite web pages like Pocket does.
In another article there are other applications such as Pocket to save favorite web pages to read them later
4) Even though Pocket also works on Kindle Fire, it doesn't go so well with the Amazon eReader instead.
To send web pages from your computer's browser to the Amazon eBook Reader you can use the Chrome and Firefox Send To Kindle extension or download desktop applications for Mac and Windows and send files from your computer to the eReader. This add-on also eliminates all unnecessary page elements, sidebars and unnecessary buttons.
5) Download the entire web page
To better see a web page you can download it to your computer and read it even offline without internet connection.
We have seen some articles about it for:
- Open and read offline websites without connection on PC, tablet and mobile phones
- Browser to save sites on the PC and surf offline without connection
- Download entire websites to the computer
6) Even better can be to use particular extensions and online services to save the converted web page to PDF .
Depending on the site, the result may look magnificent or hideous, but in both cases it is easy to transfer and use on other devices.
