As I think everyone already knows, you can access Whatsapp from Chrome on PC via web app, to chat and text with friends without necessarily having to use your smartphone. Thanks to this possibility it has also become possible to save the list of contacts and friends, with their phone number, to make a backup of them or simply to keep a personal address book on the computer.
To download the contact list of Whatsapp, which is impossible from the phone, you must therefore open the chat web page, from the Google Chrome browser, at web.whatsapp.com.
Once logged in, which the first time requires scanning a QR code, you will see, on the left, the list of all personal contacts with which you can chat.
As you can see, as the Whatsapp website is made, the names of the contacts cannot be selected with the copy and paste and the list cannot be downloaded.
Even the telephone number of the contacts is not visible, unless you click on the photo of one of these as to send a message and, on the central screen, press the button with the three dots at the top right to see the Info of the contact .

To save the Whatsapp address book, a bookmarklet has been created, i.e. a button to put on the favorites bar, to be used to perform an action on the site.

If the favorites bar is not visible, press the CTRL - Shift - B keys together.
At this point, go to this site, scroll down until you see a green button with Whatsapp Contacts written on it.
That is the bookmarklet on which you have to click while holding down the left mouse button to drag it on the bookmarks bar, releasing the pressure to place it.
Then open the website.whatsapp.com, log in and click on the bookmarklet, press Ok and wait a few seconds to open a new page with the list of all contacts, with name, telephone number and large photograph.
To save the web page in PDF on Chrome, as already explained, just use the Print button, changing the destination and choosing " save as PDF ".
Alternatively, you can also save the list of Whatsapp contacts as an editable CSV file, which can be imported into other sections.
To do this, press on the bookmarklet keeping the Whatsapp web page open and when the warning popup appears, instead of pressing OK, press Cancel .
