Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is without a doubt one of the most popular and most powerful tools when you need to clean your computer of viruses or malware. Personally I have used MalwareBytes successfully in many cases using the free version of the program, which is not a real-time antivirus but a scanner to be used every now and then to check that there are no malware and remove them.
The same company has now released another program called Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit, designed for the detection and removal of the worst malicious rootkits that can be affected.
The main difference is that Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit removes different types of rootkits that Anti-Malware does not touch.
I had already explained in another article on anti-rootkit protection what is meant by rootkit which, in summary, are programs hidden by the operating system that load at startup and then disappear from sight.
For example, drivers, those programs that allow the computer to recognize hardware such as the printer, are rootkits.
Today most viruses are designed to load on Windows and then act as rootkits, remaining hidden.
The important point to be aware of is that normal antivirus, as they are loaded as programs after Windows starts, cannot detect a virus-rootkit because it loads first and disappears.
This is the main reason why, if a virus hits, it becomes impossible to remove using an antivirus.
For this same reason we have seen how Windows 10 is the safest system today, because it is capable of scanning before Windows loads onto the PC.
All this talk to introduce what today can be considered the best program to check and remove rootkit malware : Malwarebytes Anti-rootkit .
It is a portable application with which you can perform a system analysis and cleaning from the worst malicious rootkits.
The program is easy to use and all automatic : just start the scan and then, if infections are found, clean by pressing the Clean-up button.
Cleaning also removes the effects of viruses, rehabilitating all computer functions.
Searching may take a certain amount of time, depending on the number of files, partitions, hard drives and size of drives.
By default, drivers, disk sectors, and system files are checked.
