Save Gmail emails in an online backup

If you want to backup email messages from Gmail to your computer, you can activate POP3 access from Gmail settings and then use a desktop email client to download a copy of all email messages from the Google online service., on the pc.
All very easy and also quite fast, without using strange software like that Gmail Backup that is easily found on the internet.
As already seen, among the best clients to manage and read emails, there are famous programs such as Windows Live Mail (ex outlook express), Microsoft Outlook (from Office) and Mozilla Thunderbird.
On this occasion we see how to backup all Gmail mail online to another website, without using an email client and therefore without installing anything on the computer.
So basically it is a question of making a copy of the Gmail mailbox, onto another online mailbox .
The reasons why you may want to do this thing which, at first glance, seems to be useless are mainly three:
1) If the main Gmail account is hacked and therefore if the access password is stolen and changed, you can still read past emails.
2) If an important message were deleted by mistake, there would still be the possibility of recovering it.
In fact, this feature becomes available if you use the paid Google Apps Premier service.
3) If you use Gmail for work and it is not accessible (sometimes it happens even if for short periods), it will still be possible to read and respond to emails received before the interruption.
Online backup of Gmail email messages can be done in several ways including 4 which, besides being free, seemed the easiest.
1) Gmail itself allows you to download the entire Gmail account, address book and messages, to your PC .
2) With Gmail you can import the email of another account .
The best move then is to create a new one, go to the Settings menu -> Accounts and Import -> Check mail with POP3 -> Add POP3 email account and enter the email address of the main Gmail account you want make the backup copy.
Within an hour or so, the Mail Fetcher program will import all the messages from the main Gmail account, copying them to the new "backup" account.
The only thing that is not good is that e-mail messages that have already been read are not imported, nor those that have already been downloaded with another e-mail client.
If everything had been smooth and complete, there would have been no need to find other solutions.
3) A third alternative is to switch all email from Gmail to Outlook.com as explained in another post.
4) Backup Gmail or other webmail by saving the messages on the computer
5) The common problem with the solutions above is that they do not have customization options: they make a complete backup of the messages, without the possibility of limiting the copy and transfer process only on the basis of the folders or labels used.
So if a lot of emails are stored in Gmail and you have organized yourself to distinguish, in separate folders, the most important ones, if you want to backup only these, you can use Backupify.
Backupify is a popular online service that allows you to create an online backup copy of Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Flickr, Picasa and others.
Before it was free, now you can use the free service only in a trial version and allows you to import the emails received in Gmail, based on the folder or label used.
Messages are stored online as .eml files which can then be downloaded to PC and read with Outlook or directly from Internet Explorer (or other browsers) by changing the .eml extension to .mht.
Backupify also meets the most scrupulous who had turned their mouths seeing that TrueSwitch wanted to know the passwords of the accounts.
Since it supports XOauth (a kind of Facebook Connect), it is possible to share Google account information, without sharing credentials.
Even if the message saving system is not the most comfortable, there is still the advantage of being able to choose which messages to import.
