Inexpensive PC for trouble-free gaming

The old fixed PC now causes too many problems and we were thinking of replacing it "> How to assemble the PC, assemble the parts and build a computer from scratch
1) Components recoverable from an old PC
Before seeing the components for this new gaming PC, we recommend checking the components that can be recycled from the old computer, so as to greatly reduce the expense.
The reusable components on the new PC are:
- Monitor : useless to spend another 100 € if the old flat LCD monitor still performs well, the important thing is that it supports at least FullHD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). On old monitors we will find the VGA and DVI ports, all connections available on the motherboard chosen for the new PC, although it is advisable to reuse the monitor only if we find an HDMI port to be exploited.
- DVD player / burner : why throw away the burner if it is still fully functional? This component is also reusable without problems on the new PC, so that you can read and burn CDs and DVDs.
- Memory card reader : another component that can be recovered without any problem is the memory card reader (microSD, SD etc.), which can be connected to the new PC so that it can manage portable memory cards without using external adapters.
- Hard disk : even if there is a new more powerful hard disk among the components of the new PC, we will be able to recover the old one as a backup unit, perhaps also connectable to the router to obtain files shared on the network.
- Webcam: why buy a new webcam if the previous one works? In the end it is a simple USB device, just connect it to the new PC to make it immediately available to video-calling apps such as Skype.
- WiFi adapter: was there a WiFi adapter via USB on the old PC? We can recover it to connect the new PC to the home wireless network and avoid using the cable. If instead we used an internal PCI-Express type adapter, it will also be possible to use it on the new motherboard, the important thing is that it supports Wi-Fi Dual Band (i.e. the frequencies at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).
- Case : it is possible to replace and maintain the case, the final choice is ours! Deciding to keep the case will save something on the final expense, but it will have to be large and spacious enough to accommodate the new components.
- Power supply : on the old PC we can hardly recover the old power supply. If the power supply is not powerful enough (less than 500W) or makes noise, it is better to leave it alone and focus on the new one recommended below.
- Keyboard and mouse : these components can be easily reused, since in most cases they are USB peripherals. PS / 2 peripherals should be left alone and replaced with more modern and game-friendly peripherals.
- Audio speakers: if we used a separate audio system, it will be possible to reuse it without problems even on the new PC.
Any other component not listed above (CPU, RAM, motherboard, old video card etc.) will be disposed of because it is no longer usable.
Alternatively, it is possible to keep some components to sell them online to collectors of the old hardware (very numerous on eBay), so as to obtain a fair sum.

2) Components to buy for the new gaming PC
After seeing the components that can be recycled, let's see together the components of the new economic PC suitable for playing.
We anticipate that the final expense is around € 600 (excluding the components we already have), a very very cheap figure considering that at least € 1400 is spent on high-end and premium gaming PCs!
Processor

As the heart for our new PC to play we have chosen the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G processor, which has 4 independent cores at the frequency of 3.5 GHz, support for the AM4 socket, 14 nanometer production process, integrated graphics component AMD Radeon Vega 8 and compatibility with the latest generation of DDR4 memories.
We can view it from here -> AMD Ryzen 3 3200G (105 €).
NOTE: As for the v edo I would be better to make an extra effort and buy the Ryzen 5 for 160 Euros.
Motherboard

Obviously we have to choose a new motherboard that supports the new processor and the components that we will see later; the best is the ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS, which features an ATX form factor, AM4 socket, DDR4 support, compatibility with M.2 memories, a PCI-Express x16 slot and 2 PCI-Express x1 slots, HDMI and numerous USB ports (including two USB 3.1).
We can view it from here -> Asus PRIME B450M-A (86 €).
RAM banks

As RAM memory we recommend buying Ballistix ones available in various formats.
To start, an 8 GB bank can be enough (reserving the right to buy at least another 4 GB piece in the future or even to get to 16 GB to play without problems).
These RAMs are fast, support DDR4 at various frequencies and are ideal for a gaming PC.
We can view the kit from here -> Ballistix Sport (37 €).
power supply

In order to supply electricity to all components, we will need to place an appropriate power supply.
The best we can take into consideration is the Thermaltake TR2 S, which has a 12mm fan large enough and silent during use and a maximum power of 500W, therefore compatible with all the chosen components (including the video card that we will see in following).
We can view it from here -> Thermaltake TR2 S (41 €).
Solid state drive (SSD)

If we want to increase the response time of the operating system, the opening and loading of video games we will have to focus on a solid state disk (also called SSD).
The best drive that we can use in our configuration is definitely the Samsung 860 EVO, with support for the SATA 3 interface and 500 GB capacity.
We can view it from here -> Samsung 860 EVO (79 €).
Video Card

Obviously, a new video card could not be missing, able to make us play all modern games without too many compromises.
Since the PC we are making is quite cheap, the video card we can install is the GIGABYTE GTX 1050 Ti WINDFORCE OC, which has 4 GB of high-speed video memory, Nvidia Pascal GPU technology, Multiscreen projection and automatic overclocking system. .
We can view this card from here -> GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (€ 179).
3) Additional components
The top view is the minimum configuration to be inserted into a ready-made case, with monitor, webcam, keyboard and mouse recycled from the old PC.
But if we want to replace other old or unsuitable components, we will necessarily have to widen the budget and buy other components, such as those recommended in the list below:
- Samsung Monitor for Desktop PC 24 '' Full HD TN (99 €)
- BAKTH Gaming Keyboard and Mouse (29 €)
- Asus PCE-AC56 PCI-E Wireless-AC1300 adapter (55 €)
- Empire Gaming - PC Gaming Case (54 €)
- Arctic Freezer 33 eSports One CPU cooler (34 €)
We can also take these devices at a later time, so as to dilute the expenditure in several months and thus build, piece by piece, a respectable gaming PC.
