Switch data from iOS to Android without losing Contacts and Photos

Android and iOS are the two most used operating systems on smartphones (almost the only ones by now) and although they basically have the same functions, they are however very different as regards data retention. While on Android smartphones practically everything is automatically saved to your Google account, Apple's iCloud is used on the iPhone. If, therefore, you want to switch from an iPhone to an Android phone (such as the Samsung Galaxy, the Xiaomi, Huawei etc.) and make sure that all the data in the iPhone memory is transferred to the new smartphone, then you have to find a way to make a backup that can synchronize the data between the two phones.
While there are several applications to do so, Google itself has obviously worked to provide the solution to the problem by integrating the Google Google Drive application into the ideal tool to make a backup of the most important iPhone data so that it can then be loaded. easily on any other Android smartphone .
The new Google tool allows iPhone and iPad users to backup the address book, photos and calendar to Google Drive so that they can be quickly and easily transferred to the Android phone . The only obligation is to use the same Google account on Google Drive on the iPhone and to access the Android features.
Step 1: Download Google Drive on iPhone open the application and then log in with a Gmail account which, as mentioned, must be the same Gmail account used on Android (where the Gmail account is required from the first power on).
In Google Drive, tap on the three-point menu and then go to Settings -> Backup .
Google Drive will ask you to select the type of data you want to backup and allows you to select contacts, calendar events, photos and videos. You can also select individual items, for example only the contact directory or only photos. After making the selection, press on Start Backup and wait a few minutes until completion.
Step 2: From the Android smartphone to import the data, you do not need to install Google Drive, just open the Settings and go to the Account section and add the Google account where the iPhone backup was saved. This step only needs to be done if you have not yet set up your Google Account on your phone or if you are using another Gmail account.
Data synchronization is immediate and automatic, with the photos that are uploaded to Google Photos, the address book that is uploaded to Google Contacts and the calendar events that are inserted into the Google calendar.
If you want to use alternative apps that also include extra data, you can refer to the guide to transfer Contacts, Photos and Apps from iPhone to Android on the new smartphone
