On PC and Mac, if you are watching a video and want to go fast, just use the VLC Media Player program.
Whatever movie you are watching, you can speed up playback from the top menu Playback> Speed .
It is possible to speed up the vision until you are able to understand the dialogues or go much faster without hearing the audio.
With VLC, you can also slow down the video like a slow motion.
The same thing can also be done on VLC for Android by pressing the button with the three dots and then the runner icon, and VLC for iPhone and iPad, using the clock button at the bottom.
If, on the other hand, you want to edit a video to make everything faster permanently, you need to use some programs to edit videos.
On Windows PC, you can speed up a video or speed up only a few parts using the good old Windows Movie Maker program, which can still be installed even if officially it is no longer made available by Microsoft.
Then open the video with Movie Maker, divide the movie using the relevant button in the Edit tab, then select the parts you want to accelerate and press, always in the Edit section, the drop-down menu at the top to accelerate twice, four times or more.
Once the changes are made, to make them permanent in the new video, press the button to save the movie in the Home tab.
Also on PC it is possible to create accelerated Timelapse videos with photo sequences .
On Mac and also on iPhone and iPad you can, instead, use the iMovie program, which should already be installed and which you can still download for free on old Macs and on iPhone / iPad.
On iMovie, the key to use after opening the video to be edited is the one with the clock at the top right above the video, where you can customize the speed of the video.
Even here it is still possible to divide the video into different parts and speed up only some of them, leaving the others normal.
In IMovie for iPhone, after separating the scenes, you can touch the icon to change the playback speed located at the bottom, with a bar to adjust it.
Then save the video with the changes just made and you're done.
On the iPhone you can also use an app to create accelerated videos such as Instagram Hyperlapse of which I have already spoken, or even TiltShift Video, whose main function is the ability to change the speed of a movie and simulate the time lapse or slow motion.
On Android, however, an excellent application that also allows you to speed up videos in a personalized way you can use Vivavideo, one of the best apps to edit videos on Android.
Finally, remember that you can speed up watching Youtube videos to save time
