How to make videos on Instagram with cinema filters

The hugely popular Instagram application, born as a photographic social network, allows you to take and share photos immediately from an Android smartphone or iPhone, so you can show them to friends and other people connected to the social network through the use of hashtags (which allow you to index the content of the photos and make them available to anyone who decides to follow a particular hashtag).
In addition to the photos, however, we can shoot short videos, so that we can use them in the Stories or within a simple post and tell a little about our life and thoughts. When we shoot Instagram videos, just like photos, it offers film filters, which we can use both live (during recording) and later, before publishing the video (in post-production). In this guide we will show you precisely how to make videos on Instagram with film filters and how to add them both live and before publication . If we still have, we download Instagram for free on iPhone or Android.

How to make videos on Instagram with live filters

To record a video with Instagram, we open the application, tap on the button at the top left of the camera to open the internal camera of the app. Now choose the mode among those below (scrolling left and right) and hold the button in the center, so as to activate the video recording. Alternatively we can record without having to hold down the button, going to Without holding down . To add an effect when shooting live video, we tap the smiley icon on the right side, so you can choose from the filters available for shooting.

We can choose between various types of effects related to the face (useful when we shoot with the front camera or with people's faces) or choose whether to add the old film effect, with numerous artifacts and disturbances typical of old cameras (very nice to use ). Currently only these two live filters are available, but we are sure that Instagram will soon add new filters for the direct made with the apps.
These simple filters (other than the cinema filters that we will show you below) can be applied even after shooting the video through the Instagram camera: we will only have to click on the smiley or pencil symbol at the end of the shooting to be able to apply the filters available for direct, so as to beautify the video before publication as a post or as an Instagram story.

If instead we wanted to apply filters to a video already shot, we tap the + button in the center of the Instagram app, then go to the Video section and hold it in the center for the seconds necessary to shoot the video we want to create; at the end of the shooting, release the button and select the Next item at the top right. A new screen will open, where we can add the cinema filters on Instagram.

We scroll left and right on the names of the filters to choose the one that best suits us, also seeing the result in real time (just tap the Play symbol to see the video shot scroll with the filter we have chosen). Currently we can choose from over 20 video filters, with the ability to manage them by scrolling all the filters and tapping the Manage button, so as to choose from time to time the filters that we want to use and those that we want to remove from the app. In addition to the film filter, we can also add a cover to our video: to do this, simply select the Cover tab below (in the same filter screen) and choose the cover for the video.

After adding the desired film filter and the cover, we tap at the top right on the item Next and choose whether or not to publish the video as a post or as a video of our Instagram story (where it will be visible for our followers for only 24 hours) .
The videos we shot with our effects are also visible on the Instagram website, so you can also admire them from a computer. If we have a website or blog that you update daily, we can also incorporate you and show them to a wider audience (the one who visits the page) using this code.

Conclusions

As we have seen, creating videos on Instagram is very simple, as well as applying film filters : just press a few buttons and scroll through the available filters to make small masterpieces, ready to be shared with our followers or for anyone who follows a certain hashtag (essential when we use a photographic social network like Instagram).
