Switch to Outlook.com with the same Gmail address

Microsoft, with some cunning and to attract as many users as possible, has created a very simplified and convenient automatic procedure to switch from Gmail to Outlook.com (from Microsoft) without changing the email address .
In practice, as you would with a desktop client, you can download the mail that arrives at the @gmail address on the Outlook.com site which, in some ways, may be preferable.
What complains about Gmail, which clearly remains the most powerful and rich in tools, is its slowness in loading and passing from one message to another, marking them as already read.
Outlook.com, the webmail that was previously called Hotmail, has instead become a very versatile application, full of features almost like Gmail (including IMAP support for Outlook.com) and, above all, faster to load.
Outlook.com, along with Gmail, has always been the simplest email service to combine all Email addresses into one that now also provides an automatic procedure for switching from Gmail to Outlook.com.

From the bos, before pressing Start, click the Options link to choose how to import Gmail mail, whether to organize it with the same folders or put it in new folders and sub-folders.
Press Start to access Gmail and grant access to the account.
Once this is done, copying of emails to Outlook.com will begin.
There will be no changes in Gmail and all messages will stay where they are.
Once the import process starts, Microsoft itself will send step-by-step instructions on how to set up automatic email forwarding, so that emails received in Gmail are also received in Outlook.com.
What you need to do is just go to Gmail Settings and in the " Forwarding and POP / IMAP " tab select Forward a copy of the inbox to and enter the Outlook.com mail address.
In Outlook.com, go to the Options from the wheel at the top right and check that the Gmail address is configured for sending mail in the Your email accounts section.
The import of messages and address book takes place in the background and you can continue to use Outlook.com or even exit.
Once the import is complete, a notification email will be sent.
If the move to Outloook.com doesn't please you, you can go back to Gmail and continue using it as if nothing had been done.
