The Google app for making scientific experiments and measurements

Among the numerous projects carried out by Google, minor but often extremely innovative and of great interest, there is one that wants to help all those who love to do scientific experiments and who are passionate about measurements and comparisons, with a new application that transforms the smartphone in a powerful research laboratory .
The Google app, developed in collaboration with Exploratorium, a science museum in San Francisco, allows you to take advantage of the various sensors on your phone to make measurements of various types, for example the volume of sounds in an environment, light and movement.
The sensors, guided by this app, capture environmental data in real time so that experiments can be created, for example by measuring the noise level of a street, a room or a voice, or the intensity of light in the house or in a room or even horizontal and vertical acceleration.

The application, which I recommend to everyone to try because it is very nice and fun as well as technical and scientific, is called Google Science Journal and can be downloaded, for now, only for Android smartphones, obviously for free.
As mentioned above, there are 5 types of measurements that can be made and the application creates a real-time graph and tables with changes in noise, light or movement .
When you want to do an experiment, you can touch the record button, make the necessary measurements and then view the final graph that shows us the maximum, minimum and average peaks, graphs.
For each experiment it is possible to give a title and write notes and notes that remain stored.
It is also possible to add a vocal note while taking measurements to help you remember any details on where you are, in order to make it easy to compare data taken in different ways.
