Set quality and fixed size of videos on Youtube

With Youtube there are many extensions for the Firefox Chrome and Opera browsers that allow you to customize the viewing of streaming videos according to your personal preferences.
There are several settings that you can change, both to have a different graphic and, above all, to see the videos without interruptions and with an optimized and fast loading.
YouTube plays videos with 360p resolution which can then be changed manually via the small button in the right corner of the player.
If you have a large monitor and a fast connection, you can choose to see all the videos at 720p (HD) resolution while if the internet connection is slow you will have to settle for the lower resolution.
YouTube doesn't offer a way to set a different default video resolution once and for all so you can always watch them all in the quality you choose.
The only option is visible in the settings of the registered account (if you do not log in with an account you cannot), in the "video playback" section where you can choose the video playback quality .
You can then choose: I have a slow connection or Always select the best option and then also Always play in full screen HD .
To have more control over the YouTube player, you must therefore resort to an extension that is available for Chrome browsers : Magic Enhancer For Youtube
After installing this extension, if you go back to YouTube and open a video, a button appears at the top of the address bar with the HD symbol.
Pressing it you can choose, from a drop-down menu, the dimensions and proportions of the video, resizing it or expanding it.
Alternatively, those who use Firefox can install the YouTube High Definition extension that allows you to view videos in HD quality, choose a different predefined resolution, remove annotations, choose the size and also check the videos when embedded in other sites.
The extension adds an icon to the status bar of the Firefox browser with which you can choose the quality of the videos that will be automatically applied on all Youtube pages.
For both Chrome and Firefox there is SmartVideo, a very useful plugin for those who have a slow connection to watch YouTube videos without interruptions with fast loading of the buffering, of which I had already spoken.
