Management and control on Windows with Nirsoft and Sysinternals tools

In this article we go back to Windows and this time we go inside the system to discover the functions and options that, either for security reasons, or because they cannot be modified with a visual interface, they are generally hidden from Windows users .
In other articles we have already talked about how and where to modify the registry keys to optimize Windows, which Windows services can be disabled or not and third of the Windows processes and the most frequent blocking reasons.
However it must be recognized that, if it is true that from the registry keys you can modify the many variables of the operating system, customize it and control it, it is also true that modifying the registry is complicated and risky because if you make a mistake you risk losing everything.
To act therefore, on the system, to discover how it moves and to control it thoroughly, there are two suites of free applications extremely interesting especially for geeks and curious.
The two suites are made up of many tools and programs from the Nirsoft and Sysinternals software production companies and can be controlled from a single interface, the Windows System Control Center.
We have already talked about Nirsoft tools, in fact Nirsoft produces applications that we could define "innocently Hacker".
Nirsoft, as we read in our article "Network and internet password recovery, of keys and serial codes of programs and games" is specialized in useful programs to find lost passwords on Windows and on the Internet.
In addition to them, Nirsoft also provides programs for network monitoring, packet sniffing and system tuning even if its fame derives from the numerous password recovery programs.
Sysinternals instead is a complete suite for Windows maintenance, to view performance, to check the network, to see disk efficiency, to set security settings, to view system information and many other useful tools for any program or subroutine from Microsoft.
Now with WSCC it is possible to launch the tools of these two program suites using a single interface.
Two important things must be pointed out:
1) WSCC is an interface for launching programs, but the individual tools must still be downloaded separately so for Sysinternals you can download the entire set of programs from the Download Suite Sysinternals site from the Microsoft site.
As for the Nirsoft tools, they must be downloaded one by one (the ones you need) from the homepage of the Nirsoft website .
2) All tools are for Windows and do not require any installation, therefore they should only be downloaded and placed in a folder; are the so-called portable applications because they can be copied to a USB cream and can be used on any PC without leaving a trace.
On WSCC then, in the options menu -> Software, you must select the folder where the Nirsoft files were copied and the one where the Sysinternals suite was installed.
The Sysinternals applications, in reality, can also be launched directly online without downloading anything because the programs are available, for use via the internet, on the Sysinternals Live website and of course WSCC already knows.
By using WSCC, in order not to get lost among the applications, you can hide the missing tools from the display, that is, those that it was decided not to download and not to use even if the Sysinternals tools are all always available when you are connected to the internet.
With Windows System Control Center (WSCC) it is therefore possible to view all applications in a huge list divided into categories.
By clicking on a category the available tools appear accompanied by a short description, with the button to launch the tool and the notification if the tool is present on the PC or if it is possible to launch it online.
WSCC also allows access to two categories: Windows Utilities and Administrative Tools with the internal and native Windows applications listed: Utility for Windows contains links to the character map, disk cleaning and disk defragmentation, security center; Administrative Tools contains Computer Management, Data Sources, Event Viewer, Local Security Policy, Performance Control, and Service Management.
WSCC uses approximately 3 megabytes of computer memory when running.
My advice is not to miss this tool and to download the various programs of both Sysinternals and Nirsoft useful because all together represent one of the best solutions for troubleshooting and solving any problem that may arise on Windows.
