Screen filter for Android to rest your eyes in the evening

Twilight is an excellent and useful application for Android smartphones and tablets that is perfect for those who use reading or playing on their cell phones in the evening, maybe when they are in bed before going to sleep.
As already explained in another article, it is important to protect eyesight from computer and mobile screens because they can really annoy the eyes, especially when there is little light around.
Above all, blue lights are the ones that tire the eyesight, can create long-term eye problems and disturb sleep, concentration and rest.
Smartphones and tablets are even worse than computers because they are held in the hand very close to the face, therefore, at night, the light of their screen is even more annoying.
The Twilight application, downloadable for free from the Google Play store, is a reddish filter on the screen that blocks blue lights and protects the eyes
In this way the discomfort in the eyes is very limited and you can read a book on the tablet or play in the evening and at night without feeling the negative effects of the light of the LCD screen.
Twilight works a bit like F.Lux for PC, Windows Linux and Mac and allows you to choose when to change the color of the screen and possibly darken it a bit.
In the options you can choose the default profile to make this color change automatic and preview it by touching the relative button.
You can therefore change the color temperature if you prefer a more orange or yellow hue, its intensity and the level of darkening.
For the activation and deactivation times you can choose to follow the movement of the sun, sunset and sunrise or you can use customized times.
Among the options, you can also ask to extend the filter to the navigation buttons at the bottom, to hide the status bar and to automatically start the application when you turn on the phone.
If you are not satisfied, there are other applications to change the brightness and colors of the screen on Android automatically so as to darken the screen at night and facilitate reading when you keep all the lights around off, before going to bed.
UPDATE 2016: The F.Lux app for Android can now be downloaded for free from the store, even if it needs a smartphone unlocked with root.
Alternatively there is the famous Blue Light Filter app, like F-Lux, grateful and without limitations, to limit the blue lights of the screen and make everything appear more yellow, more restful for the eyes.
Better yet there is the Midnight app to activate automatic night mode on every Android smartphone, without root.
