EEEPC Asus: Increase video resolution with Windows XP

The Asus eeepc is a PC with a 7-inch screen and the resolution that is set as the only one available is 640 * 480 with the consequence that some Windows windows do not all enter the screen and it becomes difficult to use them.
In fact, with the normal video resolution change procedure on your monitor, right click on the desktop -> properties -> settings 640 * 480 is the only one available to avoid scrolling.
In our help, the astray program comes that offers the possibility to change the resolution of the small screen to any size you want.
Astray Plus, updated to version 1.3.7 has been tested with full security and replaces the original Asus astray.exe, whose icon appears in the lower right corner, and which is very limited.
The steps for a correct installation are very simple:
1) click on the icon at the bottom right next to the astray clock and close it
2) find astray in your pc, make a backup copy and delete it
3) extract the downloaded archive in the same folder as in point 2
4) restart the pc
At this point, clicking with the right mouse button on the new astray icon we will find different resolutions : 800x480, 600x480, 850x510, 880x528, 900x540, 1000x600 (32bit), 1000x600 (16bit), 1024x768.
At the moment, the higher the resolution the more there is a feeling of a slower response of the screen, it is normal, however it does not cause a decrease in performance.
Clicking on settings opens the configuration file astray.ini, this file illustrates the functionality of astray.exe:
1) Ability to change the resolution quickly (Quickswitch), set the preferred one when Windows starts (BaseMode) e
2) Set Downscaling = 1 or all in one page or if = 0 with the scrolling of the desktop.
3) Set HotKey = 1 or keyboard shortcuts to hide the mouse arrow, turn off the monitor and set the resolution
4) Set KeyState = 1 to see on the screen if the Caps lock, num lock or scroll lock is activated, and, in the row, KeyboardState RGBCOLOR = with what color to make it appear (if you have the desktop with a white background, RGBCOLOR, to be good bed can be set black)
5) Set the automatic resolution change if you start one application over another (AppWatching); for example if I want to start a game or internet explorer with a higher resolution than the one I set by default.
