Turn off animated effects to gain speed on Windows, OSX, iOS and Android

In general, animations on every operating system, be it Windows, Android OSX, Linux or iOS, slow down the device, a bit because, and this is true for older computers, the animations need memory and hardware resources to be fluid and fast, a bit because the transition from one window to another or from one app to another make each operation slightly slower.
Who, in practice, is not very fond of animation effects and wants things to appear on the screen at the requested moment without any waiting, can disable them completely or partially.
In this article we see how to disable the animated effects of Windows operating systems, Mac OSX, Android smartphones and tablets, iPhone and iPad .
Windows
The Windows desktop, since Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8 and also on Windows 10, allows you to disable window and menu animations.
To access the options related to the animation effects you must open the Control Panel, go to the System and Security -> System section .
Click on " Advanced system settings " in the left sidebar, go to the Advanced tab and press the Settings button under the Performance section.
Windows gives the possibility to activate or deactivate all the various animated effects of the system by giving some automatic presets including the one of the "best performances" which disables any animation.
I personally use the custom settings keeping some options described in the guide on how to speed up Windows active
On a recent computer that does not have memory problems, it is not that they improve the overall performance of Windows much, but you will gain speed in opening and closing menus and folders.
These options also allow you to delete animations from the Windows 8 startup screen (by disabling the " controls and animated elements in windows " option
Android
As for Android smartphones and tablets, I have already written the guide on how to speed up Android on all mobiles by disabling animations, using a hidden option in the developer options menu.
iPhone and iPad
Apple doesn't give many options to customize the behavior of the iOS system on iPhone and iPad, so animated effects can't be disabled.
There is however a way to reduce the animations of the main interface by going to Settings, to the Accessibility menu, by touching the Reduce speed option.
This does not eliminate the animations entirely, but replaces limits the parallax effect with a more fluid fade which can give the feeling of being faster.
Mac OS X
The slowest animations on a Mac are those for minimizing and maximizing windows.
These effects can be controlled from the Dock preferences panel found by clicking on the Apple menu, from the System Preferences.
There is no possibility to disable this animation entirely, but you can choose the " Scala " effect instead of the Genius effect for faster animation.
Another option that can give some improvement is to disable the application launch animation from the dock.
Practically every graphical interface and operating system therefore offers some options to reduce the effects of animations that can be nice to see, but that make each program and application a little slower.
Obviously it is a subjective judgment, which not all can be a problem.
