Which operator is a cell phone number

Knowing which operator a mobile phone number belongs to is useful to take advantage of the various operators' offers and better regulate the costs of the telephone bill.
For example, if you have an offer like People of 3 that allows you to call Three numbers for free, it is worth knowing if the number of a friend or a recently known person is a 3 or something else.
In general, the prefixes suggest the operator to which a number belongs:
Vodafone : 340, 342, 343, 345, 346, 347, 348, 349.
Tim : 330, 331, 333, 334, 335, 336, 337, 338, 339, 360, 363, 366, 368.
Wind : 320, 323, 327, 328, 329, 380, 383, 388, 389.
Three : 390, 391, 392, 393.
Since the transfer of the number from one operator to another has been allowed, the area codes no longer distinguish whether a phone number is Vodafone, Tim, Tre or Wind .
To take advantage of the various offers and promotions that allow you to spend less when calling a number from the same operator, there is a simple free number to know which SIM card a certain mobile number is associated with

To find out which telephone operator a cell phone number belongs to, simply put the prefix 456 before the operator whose number you want to know by calling from Italy.
For example, to call the number 3289876543 you need to dial 456 3289876543 on your mobile phone without putting the prefix +39 with which the numbers are usually stored in the phone book.
After starting the call, a recorded voice immediately answers, informing which operator the called number belongs to or if that number called is the same as ours.
In practice, if you make the number 456 from a mobile phone with a TIM SIM card inside, you will know if the controlled number is Tim, Wind, Vodafone or Tre.
At the end of the message, the call immediately starts and, therefore, must be immediately closed if you do not want to ring.
This method of the 456 works with any Italian telephone operator, including virtual operators such as Poste Mobile or others.
With Vodafone the number 456 only works to know if it is a Vodafone but it does not say if that number is from Tre Wind or Tim.
To get more information with Vodafone and to know the operator to whom a number belongs, call 4563 or send an SMS to 4563 by writing the number whose operator you want to know.
