With Windows 10 Microsoft has eliminated the old photo viewer, which has always been poor and has inserted a special application to be used to open and browse images and photos on the computer .
The app is called Photos and after the renewal following the Fall Creators Update it has been improved and enhanced with the addition of some functions deriving from those programs of the Windows Live suite that Microsoft has canceled withdrawn (in particular the functions from Windows Live Photos and Movie Maker).
Inside Photos there is therefore the tool that Microsoft called Automatic Video (or Story Remix), which works exactly as a video and presentation editor that allows you to create fantastic photo animations even with music and transition effects.
The editor of the Photos app allows you to organize photo collections, create video stories with a soundtrack and a graphic theme and also animations .

If we have never done it before, it is now time to open the Photos app and discover this video editor which will not be the greatest of complexity, but which is appreciated for its simplicity and for the result of the creations.
Then look for Photos on the Windows 10 Start menu (updated) and open the app.
The first screen shows the photos stored in the Pictures folder on the PC, organized chronologically.
It is possible to add other image folders in Photos using the settings button located by clicking the button with three dots in the upper right corner.
The application, recalling a little Google Photos on Android and iPhone, shows at the top the photos taken on this day the past years, the happiest photos (those where smiles are detected) and then the photos seen recently.
The search bar, located at the top of the screen, allows you to search for the various photos by location and also by the thing they portray.
Also you will find a button to create a video, which is the one to start the Windows 10 video editor.
To start the video editor of the Windows 10 Photos app, you can press the button at the top center, Create, and choose whether to make a video, create an album or use the Remix Video function .
The function to create a video is that which takes the good old Windows Movie Maker and allows you to create a slideshow of images .
The video can be personalized quickly and easily, after the first creation, using the buttons to change the duration of each image, to add a filter, to add texts or titles above the photos and especially the one with the movie options.
These options are the ones to add transition, entry and exit effects from the various photos, framing a point and moving the frame as if it were a scenario shot by a camera.
At the top, then, you can use the button that changes the graphic theme, the one to modify or add the background music and then the one that changes the resolution.
At the end, the video can be saved with the Export and share button at the top right, which gives the possibility to choose the quality of the video (and the size of the final file), going from small format to that for TV.
If you choose to create a Video Remix, the app will only ask you to select the photos to be included in the video which will be automatically generated complete with effects, writings and music.
If you like, the video can be saved, otherwise you can press the Remix button again to generate a different video.
If you are not satisfied with the automatic creation, then you can click on Edit video to edit it manually in the same way as above.
While therefore to see photos on the PC I still prefer other programs such as Irfanview, to create video presentations of photos the Windows 10 Photos app works really well, especially with Video Remixes, which are automatic, ultra fast and of excellent quality.
