Share the car to split petrol and decrease traffic

Updated on 29.12.13
Asking for hitchhiking in the car is always insecure and dangerous, however, in recent times there has been an attempt to encourage this practice with a view to saving money, both economically and from an environmental impact.
I myself, said among ourselves, am rather skeptical about the functioning of a regularized hitchhiking, perhaps because in Italy we are a little wary and not used to freely sharing our own objects.
Sites such as Commuters Italy and Road Sharing, offer free services to bring people together on the same road by car to share travel expenses and the car itself .
In this case, however, we see two sites that aim to bring together people who have to do the same car route.
So why take two cars and consume twice as much gasoline ">
On the RoadSharing website you must register and set the most frequent routes and road routes so as to know, if any, other registered people who travel the same route.
In fact, convenience is certainly in the division of travel expenses, in creating less traffic in cities like Rome or Milan and in consuming less petrol.
The BlaBlacar site, for car pooling, to search and find car rides on every road in Italy, by recommended and registered drivers on the site itself.
Parking space supply and demand are connected by the site's easy interface.
You register, you indicate in which company you work and in which location, you indicate the path you go to work, dates and times of movement and if you share or look for a car.
All sites that promote and facilitate the sharing of private cars for transportation between different people and to create a " group car ".
These three sites are the best that I have found as "Road Sharing" services and, in their objectives, in addition to saving the environment and transport costs, they are also proposed as a new way of making friends and finding company in the car.
Remaining a little skeptical about the success in Italy, at least in the short term, of these online services, I wondered how many of you knew these sites and who tried them or intends to try them.
