Google saves all passwords with automatic access in sites and applications

Google has been managing our website login passwords for some time when using Google Chrome and the Google account.
Therefore, if you log in to Chrome with your Google / Gmail account, you can then press the button with the three lines at the top right to access the settings and configure the password management service.
From the first section of the settings page, after logging in with the Google account, you can press the advanced synchronization setting button to activate password management with synchronization.
Anyone who has any doubts about the security of this system can be reassured by the encryption option that tells us that passwords are encrypted, i.e. made illegible, on Google servers.

Summarizing the functioning of a password manager in Chrome : if every time you store the login password for a website like Facebook, using Chrome on that PC or even on any other PC (but with the same Google account), it will automatically entered without the need to intervene.
In practice, each password remains stored in the Google account whose access becomes the only one to remember by heart.
All other passwords can be as complicated as you want and all different, they will always be automatically entered by Chrome on any PC used and also on smartphones and tablets.
On every Android mobile phone and also on iPhone and iPad, if you use Chrome and log in with the same account, the passwords will be synchronized and access to the various saved accounts will be automatic.
Whenever you log in to a new Chrome site it will ask you to save your access so that you no longer have to write your password in the future.
In another article, we pointed out that passwords are readable at all times on Chrome by providing the Windows user password.
On Chrome pre iPhone and Android you can see the stored logins, but not the passwords, in the settings -> Save password .
From here you can cancel some accounts if you don't want them to be automatically logged in.
Google has now taken a step forward in its login and password management because it is trying to make it usable even outside its Chrome browser, not only with sites but also with applications.
In particular, on every Android smartphone it is possible to activate or deactivate, from Google settings, a function called Smartlock for Password .
With this option Google expands the field of its password manager and allows you to save in your account also the accesses made in the various applications installed on the Android phone .
Since this is a new function, the apps that require you to save the login in Google are very few, but it will only be a matter of time to see requests that want to use Smartlock for Password on Android.
The implication of this function is the fact that the accounts with login and password of all accounts saved with Chrome are now visible via the internet, from any browser, on the passwords.google.com page.
The page always requires you to enter your Google password to log in, even on your PC, to prevent anyone from spying on our accounts using our computer.
Except for the Google / Gmail master password, all the others can be viewed from this site and, if you prefer, deleted .
From here you can also disable the SmartLock function and automatic login.
Google therefore becomes very similar to LastPass, one of the best services to manage website passwords and accounts
