How to use the Gmail app with other email accounts
The Gmail app is included on all Android devices; in case we need to update it, just open the app on the Google Play Store and proceed with the update, so as to obtain the new functions and support for new email services. How to add another IMAP compatible account
If we have another email account other than the ones preconfigured in the app but with support for IMAP (for example Apple Mail), we can try the guided configuration by going back to the Settings -> Add account of the Gmail app and selecting this time the Other item.
In the new screen, simply enter the email address and, when requested, the password to access our account. Gmail is able to automatically obtain the access parameters for most IMAP-based e-mail boxes, so we won't have to configure anything in most cases.
How to manually add another account
If the automatic addition of the IMAP account was not successful or we want to add a PEC or company mail account with precise parameters, just go to the path Settings -> Add account -> Other seen previously, enter the email address of the account to be configured and press down on Manual configuration .
We will see a new screen appear, where we will have to choose the type of service to configure ( POP3, IMAP or Echange ), enter the access password and finally configure the parameters for the incoming and outgoing mail server (let's pay attention to the name of the server and any ports to configure).

Upon adding the incoming and outgoing mail server, Gmail will start a connection with the aforementioned servers to check compatibility and authorize account synchronization; if the check is passed, we can manage the mail account directly within the Gmail app without necessarily using a PC, a notebook or the management app offered by the mail provider.
