How to disable background apps in Windows 10

Windows 10 is a very good, efficient, fast operating system that uses modern technologies and works well even on older computers (provided that the hardware is compatible). The only problems of Windows 10 derive from what is called Bloatware, that is the presence of many features that are useless for most people, pre-installed and activated by default. As seen in another article, you can remove pre-installed apps and system components from Windows 10 or, much more simply, you can prevent them from being activated automatically and remain in the background by unnecessarily occupying memory and computer resources.
These apps in the background (i.e. that remain hidden in the background) of Windows 10 are different and more hidden than the programs that start automatically, they are not indicated by icons in the notification area and it is rather difficult to notice them in the task manager, even because individually they take up very little memory. However, to lighten the PC from unnecessary consumption of resources and, as already written, to make the PC return fast if it is slow, it is possible to disable the apps in the background in Windows 10 in a rather simple way, choosing whether to turn them off all or only some .
Before starting with the guide, it is good to keep in mind that some applications, for better overall performance, should be left active in the background so that they are ready to respond when they are used, at all times. For this reason, it is important to check the list of these apps and disable only those that you really never use.
The list of applications that run in the background from Windows 10 at the moment are listed in a specific section within the Privacy settings (and not in the Apps section)
Then press the Start button in the lower left corner of the desktop, click on the Settings icon (the gear) in the navigation bar and then go to the Privacy section. Scroll down the left column until you find the App in the background item, which is our list to check. In this screen you will see a list of applications with a switch next to it which, if it has never been touched before, is definitely on. They are the Windows 10 apps that are running automatically.
At this point, if you want to completely disable the Windows 10 app platform, you could turn off the first switch at the top, the one that allows the app to run in the background .
Before doing so, however, it would be better to check what these apps are and actually see if you want to turn them all off or if you want to keep some of them active. For example, in the list you will find useful apps such as Microsoft Edge, Skype, Onenote, Your phone, Weather, Microsoft Photos, the Dynamic theme and then also some apps that may have been installed by us using the Microsoft store such as Netflix, Facebook, VLC, Spotify or the games.
For apps that you never use, therefore, you can turn off the switch, leaving the useful ones active. If it turns out that all the apps in the list are little used (or if we are not interested in receiving notifications from them), then you can turn off the main switch at the top and block all the apps in the background . Remember to repeat this process after each Windows 10 feature update installation.
