Check if the cable correctly recharges the smartphone (Android)

We have already explained that for almost all smartphones and tablets the same charger can be used (except Apple products), although there may be differences in the speed and quality of the recharge.
Some chargers may be very slow or broken and, therefore, charge the devices at different rates.
If you use several chargers, consisting of power supplies and USB cables remedied by old cell phones, there is an app for Android that works as a tester to check its effectiveness .
The app is called Ampere, it's free and it works on almost every device with Android 4.0 system and higher versions (except some where it can work incorrectly like HTC One).
Once downloaded and installed, you can immediately see what it is, an ampere meter.
If the smartphone is not charging you will see the orange, negative numbers, which measure the power consumption of the phone which varies depending on the brightness of the screen and the applications in the background.
Then connect the phone to the USB cable connected to the wall battery charger, the computer or even a TV with USB socket to see the measurement.
This time the numbers are positive and very variable depending on how you are using your mobile phone.
For example, if the phone is sucking -200mA because we are using some application and the charger is supplying energy up to 600mA, then the actual charging is 400mA.
To measure the wall charger it is worth reading its specifications written in small, on a label, where it is written, for example, 100-240V 50 / 60Hz .
The data that interests us is the maximum amperage the charger is capable of, which can be, for example 1, 000mA.
A maximum 1, 000mA charge should therefore be expected from this charger, from which it is necessary to eliminate the energy consumed by the switched on mobile phone which can be 240mA or 510mA depending on the brightness.
Testing the Ampere app with different chargers will notice different performance and you may find that a cable or power supply is not working as it should.
It may be that the charger of another mobile phone is not working properly and it will be better to replace it.
Obviously the charge level will be very low when you attach the micro-USB cable to the computer which certainly cannot produce the same amperage level as a power supply.
From these measurements, we can go back to the tricks to increase the charging speed of the smartphone mobile phone battery, for example by putting it in airplane mode or by turning it off.
