See 3D animals animated in AR (which seem real in front of us)

If we have to explain to children how big a wolf, a shark or a tiger is, we can show them pictures, but we will not be able to show how they really are until they are seen live. Luckily the technology that makes things unthinkable until a few years ago comes together. It is once again Google that allows you to see animals as if they were real, thanks to augmented reality or AR technology.
Augmented Reality is the technology that allows you to frame a real environment with the camera and see virtual elements on the screen, as if they were really in front of us. We have seen many applications and games that use augmented reality, among which the Pokemon Go game and the application that measures distances from the camera is famous.
The latest augmented reality implementation comes directly from the Google search engine, where you can search for an animal to be able to see it in its real form, in 3D, as if it were really in front of us, at home or around.
To make the 3D view of the animals work on Google it is necessary to search for the name of the animal from Google smartphone (from PC does not work) with Google Chrome or with the Google app (for example, Wolf) and then, in the first result and below the first photos, touch the View in 3D button to load the view of the animal, recreated in a 3D and animated model. The wolf moves in a realistic way, shakes its tail, turns and also makes verses that can be heard. After tapping on " View in 3D ", you can select AR at the top to place the animal in the surrounding environment framed with the camera or you will simply see it moving on a white background.
With AR mode, the image of the animal appears as if it were close to us, with the right proportions and sizes. You can then frame a person or object with the phone's camera and see how a lion, a wolf or even a tiger and a leopard to see how it moves close to him and you can also take a picture.
While the 3D animal view works with all phones, to view it in augmented reality and to use AR mode with the camera framing it is necessary to have a smartphone that supports Android's ARCore technology or iPhone's ARKit . If by trying the trick you only see the 3D model moving inside a white background, then it means that the phone does not support ARCore. The Google website lists some Android smartphone models compatible with ARCore
This type of 3D and augmented reality view only works with specific searches such as wolf, tiger, bear, lion, horse, dog, eagle, shark, panda, raccoon, penguin and some others.
Regarding the proportions, these may not be perfect and the animal may appear too large or too small depending on the zoom that we can adjust by pinching the screen. The important thing is that the framed environment has different measurable elements such as furniture or people, so that the application can calculate the right environmental proportions.
Note that it is possible to send the URL of the animated 3D image to the PC (using the option to send links to the PC with Chrome) to see it on the big screen of a computer, even if it is not possible to use augmented reality.
