Not everyone knows that the video player on the YouTube site allows you to change the video playback speed. This option is not visible if you use Youtube in its flash version, you must in fact use Youtube in HTML5.

To adjust the playback speed in the YouTube player you need to use the HTML5 player that can be activated on the site youtube.com/html5
If the option to control playback speed is not available in YouTube for a particular video, or if you want to have more precise control over the speed, you can always use the good old VLC Player program to watch any video on YouTube (or Vimeo) both in slow motion and accelerated.
