Fortunately, today, the most important chat and message applications such as Whatsapp are end-to-end encrypted, therefore cannot be intercepted.
From another point of view, it can be interesting to check and see IP addresses and other data on the devices connected in a network. You can do this for many reasons, for example only out of curiosity to see who uses the public wifi network of a bar or restaurant or to find out if someone steals our wifi connection at home. Below, we then see some tools to see and discover the IP address and name of the devices connected to the same Wifi network to which we are also connected, whatever it is, through some free apps to be installed on any Android smartphone and tablet or even with iPhone and iPad .

1) As an app to track every computer or cellphone connected in a network, we can use Fing, free for Android and for iPhone.
After installing the application, launch it and scan all the devices currently connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
The list of names also displays the assigned IP addresses and by tapping on each element you can also check the active services and other information such as the MAC address.
In case you want to block the access of a device to our Wifi network, then you can use the Mac Address to block it on the router.
2) Another interesting application similar to Fing, but only for Android, is Wifi Inspector, a simple tool to see all the devices connected on the network, which shows us the IP address, the device name, Mac Address and type / manufacturer computer or smartphone used.
3) IP Tools: Network utilities is a powerful Android application that allows us to go even deeper on the connected wifi network and really discover everything possible (without getting to invade the privacy of others or do hacker operations).
In particular, in addition to being able to see the IP addresses connected to the wireless network from your smartphone, it is also possible to scan the LAN king so that you can discover everything connected, even routers or devices at home. In addition, from the network connections section, you can also monitor the devices connected to our hotspot.

4) zAnti is an app only for Android that goes further and allows you to influence the connection of others in a wifi network or spy on it.
zAnti is an application to control network security and simulate hacker attacks that only works on Android smartphones, possibly unlocked with Root.
