Merge and Superimpose photos to merge two images into one

I have brought together two different topics in this same page for an article that will be broken into two parts, one to merge two photos and overlap one on the other by putting them in transparency, the other instead to create an image made of multiple images, to have one alone.
The first part therefore concerns a fun and useful photo editing tool for everyone to create immediate blending effects between two images but which also works well for labeling photos with a watermark .
The second part, on the other hand, is aimed at both normal people who use computers and simplified digital photo editing, and towards webmasters, website creators and those who deal with graphics (and CSS Sprites).

To avoid confusion, let's say immediately that to create merges of photos and photo montages you can use Windows Photos or a free program of real photo montages.
In this case, instead, we talk about overlaps and shades between different photos, in one.
1) Sumopaint is a web application that is used directly from the browser or a very powerful and free program to download on which to upload the photos to be merged and superimposed on each other, blending them and adjusting the effects for a very merging of photos professional. The tool is easy to use and requires only attention, precision and imagination to create a fusion between two images in one .
2) Merge is a very easy to use free program for merging two images .
After downloading it from the link at the bottom of the download page, you can install it on your computer.
Once opened, the program interface is truly basic and intuitive.
First you have to click on "Load Image" to load the first image that will be the background, then press on "Scroll Source 2" and load the second photo that will be superimposed on the first one.
The photo can be moved and can also be placed side by side so that the new image becomes a collage between the two.
With the right buttons you can resize the two photos, adjust their contrast and brightness, turn them vertically or horizontally or orient them differently, mgari putting one diagonally.
With the larger blue buttons you can decide which of the two photos should be more visible and which in the background in an area selected with the mouse.
By repeatedly clicking the blue button for one of the two images (Source 1 or Source 2), it is highlighted more and more.
Once satisfied, you can save the new image composed or superimposed by the Save button in the File menu.
The same image (from Source 1) can also be superimposed on many images that are in the same folder.
This is a great way to tag your photos and images with a watermark, which can be a logo, a symbol or a sign of recognition that protects the image.
For those who create and manage websites, it can be important to watermark their images to prevent them from being "stolen" and published on other sites without permission.
3) An alternative program to Merge that perhaps gives better results from the point of view of the function and overlap made for artistic reasons is STG Picture Merge .
With this topic of the watermark we move then to the world of webmasters to find easy tools that allow you to put many images in one by unifying them in a single png or jpg file.
Normal people (non-web professionals) do not need these tools because they probably want to create photo collages and image compositions with graphic effects that are beautiful to see and show to others or combine the photos into a 360 degree panoramic image. .
For webmasters, however, merging images into one can be used for that technique called CSS Sprites .
To learn more about CSS Sprites I can refer to a page on the JuliusDesign website
Some free tools with which to unify images by placing them side by side like Image Concat, a tool that can be used by everyone to place photos vertically or horizontally.
Despite all this, for normal people, the best way to blend and put multiple images into one is to create a mosaic.
