Google Duo, for free calls and video calls from PC and smartphone

A few months ago, in one of its conferences, Google had presented three new products: Home, Allo and Duo.
While nothing is known about the other products, the official release of Google Duo, a new video calling app, has finally been announced.
Duo allows you to make one-to-one video calls for free with anyone else who uses the application.
A bit like it happens in Whatsapp, you can video call anyone who uses the app, if you have stored their phone number in the address book (this is the first time that a Google product does not bind to the Gmail account)
Compared to other video calling applications, Google Duo has a unique and special feature called Toc Toc, which allows you to see live it's calling us, even before answering .
In practice, on the screen of our mobile phone we will already see who is calling us live (while he still does not see us at least until we answer).
Google says that Duo is a better app than the others for speed and simplicity .
The application allows you to adjust the video resolution according to the speed of the internet connection automatically and ensures that all calls are fully encrypted and, therefore, not visible or interceptable from the outside.
Google's goal is clearly to give Android users an experience similar to that of Apple's FaceTime .
Google Duo can be downloaded for free and installed on Android and iPhone smartphones.
To use Duo you need to confirm your phone number.
Google Duo can also be used on PC from the Duo website and you can then use any computer to make phone calls or video calls using webcam and microphone.
Google Duo can also be used to make calls via Google Home devices.
As seen in the past, there are already several apps for free video calling and video chatting on Android and iPhone that work very well, including Microsoft's Skype, Snapchat and Facebook Messenger, which also allow you to make group video calls.
Not to mention the fact that Google already has its own app for making video calls, Hangouts, which will be withdrawn.
It will also be interesting to see if Duo, with its technology optimized for slow and limited connections, will be appreciated by those who have savings rate plans and in developing countries, where internet speed is very low.
