Transfer files and photos via Bluetooth from Android to Windows 10 PC

Bluetooth is certainly not the latest wireless technology, but it is still very reliable to transfer photos from PC to mobile phone without using cables and with a direct connection that does not require the presence of an internet connection.
In Windows 10 the settings to configure the Bluetooth connection with the phone have been improved a lot, so much so that you can also activate the automatic lock when the phone is away from the PC (in Settings> Accounts> Access options ).
Having a Windows 10 PC that has integrated the bluetooth receiver (like any laptop or buying a USB bluetooth receiver), you can connect any Android smartphone (Samsung Galaxy, Huawei, Asus, Xiaomi etc.) to transfer files, send and receive photos on the computer in a simple way, without using external programs and without cables.

First of all, turn on Bluetooth on your Windows 10 PC .
To make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your Windows 10 computer, open Settings from the Start menu and click Devices> Bluetooth .
In the right column, click or tap the Bluetooth switch and turn it on if it was turned off.
If the menu is absent, it means that the computer's bluetooth receiver has not been recognized or that it is deactivated.
Once Bluetooth is enabled, the Windows 10 computer should automatically start looking for nearby Bluetooth devices and the PC can be found by other devices via Bluetooth connection.
In case of problems, check if there is a management program icon at the bottom right near the clock.
From the Bluetooth settings page, click the blue link for other bluetooth options and enable the various notification options, including the one that allows devices to locate the PC and the one to show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area.
Then activate bluetooth on your Android smartphone or tablet using the switches that appear in the notification area.
Pull the notification area down twice by sliding your finger from the top edge down until the various buttons are uncovered.
If this fails, open the Android settings instead and in the Connections section, tap on Bluetoth to activate it.
As long as you stay on this screen, the Android phone checks if there are other Bluetooth nearby and becomes detectable by other devices.
Once Bluetooth is enabled on Android, our Windows 10 PC should appear which has bluetooth activated.
At this point you have to tap on the name of the PC to pair it with the Android phone and then, on the computer screen, accept or authorize the addition made by the phone.
On both Android and Windows 10 you should now see a PIN which must be the same.
If they match, touch the confirmation buttons on both systems and activate the connection.
In case of error, try again by turning bluetooth on and off on your PC and / or mobile phone.
If everything worked well, the PC is now paired and connected to the Android smartphone or tablet and you can transfer files and photos from one to the other without using programs.
This procedure is to be done only once and next time you only need to activate bluetooth on your PC and phone to connect them automatically.
To transfer photos from phone to PC via Bluetooth
Now that your phone has been connected to your Windows 10 PC, you can transfer files, photos, videos, music from one to the other without using any software or application.
To transfer photos and videos from Android to your computer, you must first put your PC in reception.
In Settings> Devices> Bluetooth, click the Send and receive file link and then on Receive File and leave the window open.
On Android, open the Google Photos or Gallery application, select the photo or video to send, tap the share button at the bottom and choose to share it via Bluetooth.
From the list of paired Bluetooth devices, choose the newly paired PC to start the transfer.
On the Windows 10 PC you will be asked to select a folder where you can receive the photo or video sent by the mobile phone.
By default, files sent from the phone to Windows 10 via Bluetooth are saved in the C: \ Users \ username \ Documents folder.

The reverse transfer can be done from the Settings> Devices> Bluetooth screen, by clicking the Send and receive file link.
The same can be done by pressing the right mouse button on the bluetooth icon in the notification area.
Among the options, the one to send a file should appear and then simply select it and follow the wizard.
A notification will appear on Android asking to accept or reject the file sent from the PC.
Files received via Bluetooth on an Android phone such as the Samsung Galaxy are saved in the Downloads folder.
If you don't have bluetooth or you want simpler methods of transferring files from PC to mobile phone, you can use one of the programs to manage Android from PC and transfer data (in wifi or USB), among which ES is also reported File Explorer that allows the Android phone to connect to network resources shared by the computer.
