For those who participate in many groups on Whatsapp, this is definitely not good news. Surely these people know how to disable Whatsapp notifications in unimportant groups, so as not to be disturbed by any nonsense written by the various members.
Well now, if in a group someone tags our name, just in the same way you do on Facebook, Whatsapp sends notification on our mobile phone even if for which group the notifications had been disabled.
This new function, which WhatsApp has added without ads, therefore allows you to draw the attention of certain people in groups without leaving them the possibility of being able to ignore them.
No one will be able to say, therefore, that they have not read a message if it has been tagged in a group.
To tag on Whatsapp, simply write the @ followed by the name in a new message within a group.
After writing the @ Whatsapp itself it will allow you to choose the name of one of the participants who will appear in a list and who will only be selected.
It is also possible to tag multiple contacts in a single message and the tag also works with contacts that have not been saved in the address book, but that are part of the same group chat in which we are.
If we are tagged in Whatsapp, we will immediately receive the notification on the mobile phone, even if we had mute that group.
The tag works on the iPhone and Android app (for now it does not work on the Whatsapp web).
Whatsapp groups, which can now have up to 256 participants (before the limit was 100), become increasingly evolved, with useful functions such as this one of the tags that keeps conversations alive or as the possibility to quote and forward messages in Whatsapp.
