For those who like to discover new places every day, Microsoft has created a theme of dynamic backgrounds with aerial views of the world that are really pleasant to look at every time you turn on the computer. It is a pair of desktop themes for Windows 7 and Windows 8 called Bing Satellite Maps Themes, one for the United States and the other for Europe.
At the same time we see in this article some sites with satellite photo backgrounds to download and use for free on Android phones and iPhones .

With Bing Maps satellite images Europe you can enjoy breathtaking aerial images of European landscapes of cities and unusual places taken from above in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom and other countries.
The backgrounds are all in high quality, also compatible with larger and 16/9 monitors.
The images are taken from an RSS feed, downloaded to the computer automatically from the internet and running at regular intervals, so that every day and every moment you can discover a different place.
For each photograph, the city and the country are shown at the bottom right so as to understand where you are.
There are photos of cities particularly original from an urbanistic point of view (seen from above), stadiums, modern architecture complexes, volcanoes, beaches, cultivated fields and much more.
For those who prefer American landscapes instead of European ones, they can instead install the Bing Maps theme USA satellite images with many backgrounds taken from the real view of the Bing maps.
These themes feature a stunning collection of aerial photographs taken from Bing Maps which is updated weekly with several new photographs added.
Personally, it is the Windows theme that I have been using for some time now and I think it is among the best that you can choose to customize your desktop.
For iPhone and Android there are some sites with optimized satellite photo backgrounds like WLPPR, the NASA site and a specialized Tumblr blog.
